I like how all the YouTubers and Streamers are glossing over the fact that Escalation Protocol wasn't originally going to be as tough as it is now. And it's only ridiculously hard now because they told Bungie to make it so. They're all behaving like they had nothing to do with the decision at all.
In one of his video, Unknown Player was like "Bungie need to change EP, as it is now it is unsustainable".
Ya think?!
If all the suggestions they made to Bungie are in the same vein, the Comet expansion is going to be "interesting".
EDIT: Yes, yes. You're all super good and breeze through any activity Destiny has to offer. Well done.
I'm not a special snowflake, ok. I'm a middle aged guy who plays D2 to unwind. I don't mind the difficulty, I actually enjoy difficulty in video games. But this is Destiny, not -blam!-ing Dark Souls. Difficulty is one thing but if you need 9 guys at max light to complete something, maybe that thing is a tad too hard for a AAA game who's designed to be "a hobby". Just saying.
I know I'm way too low to complete EP, and I'm grand with that. I actually like the grind and I'm perfectly happy leveling up organically and bite my time until I can attempt it. I'm also a bit sick of being pinged by randos, asking me to invite their mates so I can promote them to FT lead and bugger off.
That wasn't my point though. My point was that EP is hard - maybe too hard - and streamers now have the gall to whinge about it even though they were the ones who asked Bungie to make it harder. I just dread to think what advice they gave Bungie about the Comet expansion. Because right now, on the advice front, we're 0 for 1.
As you were.

Who told you destiny has to be soft and easy? You have a lot of easy activities you can do. Just leave the hardcore players to enjoy the game as well. I completely agree with the EP difficulty as it is right now. Finally something challenging in this game.

1 commentaireThe summit wasn't to get feedback on anything in warmind, the difficulty change in E.P was literally the only thing bungie could have altered as the entire product was all but finalized. Basing the entire summit off of that is foolish and shortsighted as the entire field of feedback was geared towards September.

Let’s be honest. The streamers and youtubers aren’t the only ones whose voices have sent Destiny into the ground. Much of the communities whining did that long ago
-
11 commentairesOh boy, I can't do everything in the game so it's bad. Maybe play the parts that aren't designed for high-light full fireteams instead of being sad that you're not good and geared enough for it.

2 commentairesI really don’t understand the issue here? So, from what I DO understand, you are upset about the Protocol being too difficult for the Casual Player. In addition, you have a separate gripe with the YouTube Streamers’ Hypocrisy, in which they themselves suggested the increased difficulty, yet complain that it is too hard.”. I’ll agree, the streamers are hypocrites, they are whining about something they did, but simultaneously, I disagree with the desire to decrease the Protocol’s Difficulty. Keep it hard, keep it too hard, give people something to reach for. Do not complain about grind, then complain when you have to grind, makes the community a hypocrite in itself. Give it an activity launcher, so that a group can select it, and load into an instance of Mars together. Problem solved. In the meantime, go get gear, and get some practice in, you’ve been playing easy content for too long, you forgot what a real game can be like.

I'm pretty sure it has to do with the fact that everyone is low light, considering 360 is the min you need in order to do decent damage.
-
Please invite our friend, then promote them to fire team leader, and kindly go f*** yourself because your light level is to low to do good dps. That’s what I keep getting. Yeah I’m not helping out any of these guys doing ep anymore.

1 commentaireI made a post before that the average YouTuber is not a normal gamer. People that have invested and are looking for subscribers leeching off of Destiny's popularity are not the people that represent your average Joe Schmo player. Some of these people literally do nothing but play this game and they should not be the ones chiming in about how easy or difficult it should be. There needs to at least be a balance, as you said, of normal players that can interact and have the freedom to progress doing the things they actually want to do. Look at Halo and all the modes that were just readily available to anyone at any time. Although these were not linked to a progression system per se, they took their content and maximized it and gave players the freedoms they craved which is why people played it so much. For every YouTuber, streamer, reviewer or any of the lake there should have been 10 other people from the community. I look up some of these guys like Dado and they lay into Bungie but at the same time produce these guides within hours of game release showing the level of two-faced hypocrisy as a devil's advocate. They complain about the game wanting to seem edgy but put obsessive amounts of hours into it because they know people are watching and subscribing to their channels. It's borderline selling out if not outright selling out. I think these hypercritics are just as much to blame about the current condition of the game as Bungie. To prove my point look at the difference between Star Wars and Deadpool. Deadpool would never have happened if it wasn't for all the fan support and input, they stayed true to the character and what made it good in the first place and they ran with it. Star Wars did the opposite ignoring Mark Hamill and the fans and just making whatever the heck they wanted and listen to take money reviewers Philip approval instead of the people who were paying the tickets. Aside from what Rotten Tomatoes said the approval for The Last Jedi was way below and the ticket sales or underwhelming and now there is a back lash of fans because they refused to listen to the average person to do whatever they wanted trampling on an established franchise and expecting success no matter what. I see Halo a lot like Deadpool as a game was created for fans and players while Star Wars is a lot like D2 which was created as a formula and then rubber stamp by far removed big money people or people that were invested somehow in more than just fandom. And here we are

Great edit, don't let people get you off point.

2 commentairesYou don't need 9 players at max lvl. I completed a lvl 7 over a week ago. Just need to be organised and get everyone together, thats the hardest part.
-
I agree with you 100% 👍
-
2 commentairesIf you needed 9 max light guys, that's just overkill.

Modifié par JaffinOff : 5/22/2018 3:00:05 PMI love how everyone needs someone to blame for anything they don't like with the game. Out of every video I've seen with someone talking about the summit, no one said they told Bungie to make EP harder. Datto even stated the Bungie told all of them they made it harder for release than the build they played. (The characters they used were under leveled and no team made it past stage 3.)
-
EP is hard because unless you cheese the soft caps and find work around the loot drops, you ain't getting to 380 let alone 370 anytime soon, which is why a lot of randoms on patrol, even with 9 can't beat the first few waves of EP. You'd think that with dropping last gen console (which is the excuse they gave us for nit having more vault space and bigger fireteams) we'd finally have at least 4 man fireteams in patrol?
-
I'm pretty ok with the fact I haven't beat it yet. Truth be told I been too busy chasing glory. Me personally I consider that a success that I've been too busy chasing one thing to raise my light enough to chase another.
-
2 commentairesEscalation Protocol isn’t for a team of max light guardians though, I’d say a team of max light guardians would make the activity easy, if not just tedious. The level climb is slow now, and people are attempting high light activities at too low a level. That’s what the problem is, a very steep level climb.
-
The issue with EP isn't one of difficulty as much as it is getting enough people in the same instance to run it. I'm perfectly OK with it being hard to complete and hope they don't nerf it. However, it takes an enormous amount if time to get 2 or 3 fireteams into a single instance...which is poor planning on the part of Bungie. The Power Level barrier is a gate I can live with...especially when there are other players. Even when all are at 385, I find it hard to believe that a single fireteam of 3 can complete all 7 levels.
-
Escalation Protocol is horrible in its current state.... How do I get a team of 8 or 9 players together?
-
2 commentairesFrom what I’ve heard the rewards aren’t even that high of a light level, so there’s not even a point in trying
-
1 commentaireI'm not saying it's the streamers fault, but the way D2 is now organised it is pretty harsh on solo players. I like how it was at the end of D1. You could level up by simply playing the activities you love. In D2 you can only do so by playing al the milestones. Especially raid and trials. Ugh.
-
5 commentairesDude, your max character is 348, no wonder you are getting stomped on EP. Get some more light and it will be easier. According to Bungie, having 3 max light guardians is enough to beat it. But right now, Current legit max light possible is around 375~
-
Streamers want content that’s just hard enough to be hard for their audience but not so hard that they look incompetent/no better than their audiences. It’s a narrow balance. Nobody wants to watch a streamer fail to complete content for hours on end.
-
I don't know who told you EP needed max light, but difficulty is fine as it is now, yesterday we made it all the way to last boss pretty quick, and we all were between 350 and 365, so sorry but it is good as it is now difficulty wise
-
Escalation Protocol is lazy development with bullet sponge bosses. Cheap gimmicky garbage in lieu of good content. You can tell the crap wasn't thought out. If you finish all of the levels, you might have something drop that you will never use. Might drop are the key words. Do not sweat doing this activity, it is not worth it.
