No real reason why I'm posting this, I just thought I'd like to share how the franchise is currently doing after being in existence for this long.
Edit: I changed the topic and post to reflect the numbers representing the total players across both games, not just destiny 2.
English
#destiny2

EDIT: To everyone calling me 'stupid' and 'getting my numbers wrong' and all that, I don't think you understood what I meant. What I meant, was that in D1, after the game launched, there was a drop off in player base- which came back around TTK. I didn't say that the numbers were the same, I said it was par the usual. A decline in the player base after launch. Never said anything of how low the numbers were. Putting words in my mouth you all are.

4 commentairesSo the total number of players tracked is 8.5 million since launch, yet there was only a total of around 765(im just rounding off) thousand. Thats a pretty bad drop off, if my calculator on my phone is right( it isnt, its a piece of shit apple), then that means only 9% of the player base is left playing destiny. Thats some horrible numbers for a game only five months old

4 commentairesYep. Now they want to kill off the forum playerbase too !

So .. .it's even more dire than it looks.

3 commentairesIf B.net didn't constantly drop threads from the main page, we could keep a running discussion of the player population. The daily population is smaller every time someone posts it. When the Dawning ending, the daily PVE population 822.4K. That means the daily player population is half of what it was a month ago. Brutal.

They completely ruined the game for pvp

I remember playing the game SYNDICATE when it launched on ps3 , it was really fun coop FPS game (it had a 1 player campaign too) , the point is it didn't had many players , it had so few I was even in the top 3 global leaderboards at one time , and even after I stopped playing holding in the top 10 for a few months I still had a lot fun playing it , so compared to syndicate which had maybe a few hundrets of active players at launch , destiny still has a few hundred thousands so there are worlds apart point is the playerbase is in no way a real indictation of how much a individual can enjoy the game , provided he has just enough people to fill games

8 commentairesIt's strange that the pvp numbers are going up while trials numbers are going down.

Bungie is taking steps to correct issues created by decisions that looked better on paper. Over the next several weeks, they will be releasing patches trying to correct the current issues and this is leading to a March 27th patch that will see some changes that will effect pvp. Just to help out you new players in the forums that have not been in the know or up to date.
