Nah, it's not dead. Everyone here is probably gonna play the next DLC, and the next big content TTK-esque drop too. Not tryin' to troll of be contrarian, but we're all on the forums. So distaste of the game as it stands now aside, the majority of us are probably gonna still keep playing once new content comes out.
The problem is the casual base that bought the game and now no longer play. Those are the folks who don't go to the subreddit and forums, and those folks I don't see ever returning to the fold. Which sucks, cuz that's a big revenue source, and it's gonna affect us getting new larger scaled content.

Not true. I come to the forums to laugh at how bad the game is and how Bungie deflects and just says we’re listening but does nothing. Don’t get me wrong I love destiny 1 but after being so let down it’s just comedy now. My hope has dwindled. I really don’t think this game can be fixed
-
I mean, I get half of what you're saying. You were a big fan of D1 but this game let you down to the point where you don't wanna play it. That makes sense, and I can understand being disappointed in a product. But you still come to the forums to laugh at the game?
-
I mean that and the slight hope that someday it’ll be repaired
-
I also bought the season pass and haven’t even downloaded the dlc
-
Oh. So you’re an idiot?
-
Wtf are you talking about clown
-
You paid for the DLC and didn’t even try it? 🤣🤪🤪🤣 You’re an idiot. Not even sure why you’re complaining.
-
I bought the deluxe edition therefore it came with the dlc. Why would I try it when the core game sucks. Nothing changed. Go buy more cosmetics in game scrub.
-
I’ve bought nothing but the game. Eververse has NO impact on the game other than free ships, sparrows, and emotes. None. If people want to spend real money on fake ships and speeder bikes, more power to them. They die just the same as me. But really, you paid for content, and you think that not downloading it is some sort of statement or declaration? OK. It’s a declaration of your idiocy.
-
That’s very inaccurate because you die way more often than other people.
-
I'm stuck with the next dlc ( damn preorder) but no a lot have moved on.
-
Just gotta wait for the TTK dlc... Maybe I can stay interested enough...
-
I was one of the Destiny faithful, and I’m done with this iteration after I play the balance of my season pass. The new systems and watered down gameplay make me believe that the foundation isn’t good enough to build anything of value in D2.
-
Oh I don't doubt you. But that's kinda anecdotal, right? Your story most likely isn't the majority. But I totally hear ya and can't personally blame ya!
-
Most these people will probably play the next dlc because they have the expansion pass already. As for the next TTK like expansion I’m willing to bet that’s where Bungie starts to see their D2 DLC sales drop off. As for the everyone that’s complaining will play the game anyways thought process. I’m pretty sure the fanbase dropping off as drastically as it has from D1 to D2 and then from D2 launch to now disproves this theory. There are other games out that are better than D2 unlike much of the life cycle of D1. Its easier to walk away and find something else now. Plus D2 is just not on D1’s level currently and may never be.
-
Doesn't disprove any theory, at least not yet. D2's CoO dlc was the 2nd most dl'ed in the US last year. People still played it, got upset, then played the Dawning and got upset. Again, they have every right to cuz the content's been shite recently. Just saying, right now folks are mad about content they're still playin'.
-
I guess only time will tell
-
Well, now on that we agree. The more folks keep posting numbers on unique player logins, they more legitimacy it'll add to players quite literally putting money where their mouths are.
-
I won’t be buying anything else from this dev team. I’ll play what I’ve purchased (which is the next DLC) and then move on unless there are some drastic changes to the game. I ran with a tight crew of PVP and raiders. They have all left the game for other games. At this point even if I wanted to stick around I’d have to make a whole new raid team to finish the content with. Destiny 2 is not worth that kind of hassle.
-
Of course were all on the forums since this is the real end game for Destiny 2.
-
ZING! I mean, it's become the norm to just rip on the game mercilessly right now, so you're kinda right. What else is there to do when a game about content runs out of content?
