No matter how Bungie "fixes" D2, this toxic community will forever be exposed for what it is. Toxic. Bungie clearly isn't the only one with communication issues! It's obvious they've handled the release of D2 poorly thus far, there's just NO excuse for how pessimistic & vile the playerbase has shown to be... We've witnessed EA change course with BF2 over the controversy with microtransactions, Ubisoft dropping yearly AC releases in favor of better quality, Activision and Call of Duty... okay maybe CoD isn't a good example of changing for the better (even if WW2 setting is new again) but you see the pattern here! Companies DO listen to feedback eventually, or right away if it's delivered EFFECTIVELY. Man up. Voice your valid concerns like an educated functioning member of society. Move on. And hope for a response/ change. This is how the world mostly works. Bungie is handling this game like an ongoing consistently evolving universe as it always intended, so let's keep the communication open and productive to help facilitate the changes we want!! OR we can continue to bash, belittle, and resentfully begrudge our favourite franchise only for the developer to turn it around thru eventual updates and leave those who created hate forums and desperate discussions to look like crazy maryters who sacrificed their own self dignity and respect for a "better" game...get over yourselves. We're better than this. Or maybe we're no better than the Bungie we so desperately love to hate.

  • Yeah I don't think EA backed off on the micro transaction band wagon because of feedback, pretty sure it started because politicians in the UK (and now apparently Hawaiian governor specifically called out SWBF2 for being a "Star wars themed online casino designed to draw kids into the addictive cycle of gambling money for a chance to win game upgrades" which honestly I agree) decided to actually look at the legality of the lootbox monetization strategy and the pretty blatant attempt at what is essentially online gambling targeted at children, teens, and young adults. Once the massive lumbering titan that is the government decides to start regulating something the industry will try to back off and self regulate.

  • i think its people like you who need to give it a rest @SolidSpenc are you passive aggressive or something? just because people vent their frustration in negative and verbally abusive ways doesnt mean they shouldn't just because you don't like seeing it and doesn't mean they aint right either, they have the right to be pissed off and negative after the sham that has been put before them, riddled with bugs and mistakes and shite story and all the rest of the bullshit when you dip into your pockets to buy all this subpar content, damn right its gonna make people mad and vent, the expectation of a great sequel and a better story alone only to find both area's massively lacking is ridiculous I'm not surprised that so many have dropped this game already [some 87% as I read earlier, if that's true] I'm only still here because of the monetary investment I made, cant afford to just throw away and so damn right ill keep playing but wont be investing in any further content until something is done to fix the mess already here in D2 The only thing toxic here is Bungie's less than transparent communication with their player base

  • I didn’t read your full post but if you think EA backed off micros on BF2 due to player feedback your wrong. They backed off because Disney told them to. They are exactly like Activision in that don’t give two shits about their players just their players wallets.

  • I agree, I played 80 hours of Assissans creed origins and love it! the loot system and power system is amazing and I'm still playing the daily bounty and every other week trials of the Gods... Amazing game which made me want to buy the season pass... So another words in relations to D2 , games should get better and that is my point with AC2 which I wasn't even going to buy but i'm excited I did. D2 should improve, not completely change the game...it's not where Destiny left off at all. they changed everything which made it a different end game which is really not fun to play with no incentive, especially Iron banner... oh my gosh

  • For me, it’s a case of you reap what you sow. Had bungie been more upfront, transparent and, most importantly, communicated more then you wouldn’t have nearly as much ‘toxicity’. If people are pissed off then they have every right to voice their grievances, maybe some go too far but this the Internet after all. .
