Incoming Developer Commentary about Destiny.

Hey, there. Tomorrow, we had planned to conduct the final stream prior to the launch of “Curse of Osiris” to show off some of the weapons and armor the expansion includes. Instead, we are investing all our efforts into delivering some higher priority information about Destiny 2. You’ll hear from studio leadership about their assessment of Destiny all up, they’ll talk about our goals for the game going forward, and you’ll also learn about how we’re reacting to your feedback with some game updates that will arrive in the next few weeks. That will appear on the Bungie Blog on Wednesday. Thank you, DeeJ

  • As a new player to Destiny, I think the game itself is great and I don't see any major issues with the game mechanics or the currently existing PvE and PvP content. What I do feel is needed however is More content, and that it becomes more rewarding to complete even when you reached your end-game. I'm not a hardcore gamer, I play Destiny 2 quite casually, and yet I have already leveled up two characters to 305 (soon to be three) and acquired basically all the gear/items I need/want. At this point, I'm feeling the game is only worth playing on weekends when there's Trials, or on weeks when there's a special event like Iron Banner. And that's only PvP content, so PvE content is lacking even more, which I can imagine is not so great for the players who don't prefer PvP. Everything just becomes an unnecessary grind once there's nothing there for you to acquire or achieve anymore. Take the raid for example, the raid gear for Hunter is mobility favored. Mobility is not a preferred stat for many, so why would you even run the raid on a level 305 Hunter if you don't want the gear? The first and maybe even second time doing something, it might be for the achievement of completing it and it might also be fun to do it the first couple times, but after that it just becomes a waste of time. Some improvements I see would likely give more life to this game and make it more worth your time: Changes to Armor: Make it possible to change stats on all armor sets, OR, make it possible to "infuse" an armor piece into another armor piece to apply its stats, OR, make it possible to wear any piece of armor "on top" of your primary armor, to use it only cosmetically. This would make it more rewarding and enjoyable to farm and save different armor sets, as you would be able to switch between different armor pieces purely for cosmetics, but keep the stats you want. PvP content: Some people like to play games competitively. There's no competitive scene in this game at all at this moment, although there's potential for it. I doubt it's too much of a hassle to implement a competitive mode with a leader board and ranking system. PvE content: Simply, more raids and other group content, with better and more consistent rewards. Perhaps even allow more choices of difficulty with increased rewards, to make all the hardcore players happy :) Sorry for the wall of text and thanks for reading!
