There were recently a few topics made about rap and most them were pretty interesting. But as always you have people that come in spitting hate towards hip hop for reasons they don't fully understand. I find these endlessly entertaining tbh. What are some of your favorites? My personal favorite is:
all they do is talk over a beat they ripped from the internet.
17 commentairesAnother misconception some people make about hip-hop is that it's actually good.

Wasn't a big fan of rap, but then I heard Danger Doom. It's just harder to find an artist I like, rather than the entire genre being shit, I guess
all they do is talk over a beat they ripped from the internet.
Yes, but I would like to know why this is wrong.

1 commentaireModifié par afanoflafear : 10/30/2017 11:15:58 PMI love Hip Hop and I've been a fan since I first listened to Lil' Flip, Goodie Mob, Ja Rule, Ruff Ryder's, D12, Nas and N.O.R.E. back in the late 90's before I moved to Australia. The majority of people in middle class - Prestigious Sydney suburbs condemn Hip Hop due to stereotypes of objectifying woman, promoting violence, drug use and egotism but at the end of the day it's just entertainment and the type of music one prefers doesn't reflect on his traits in person. Personality I'm not a fan of tupac and I consider him overrated - I know the word overrated is thrown around alot these days but I don't label someone/something with the word unless I truly feel they are. Sure pac dropped a few nice singles here and there but it's annoying how people mindlessly worship him as if he was a god.

All music has its audience. Some genres generally require more skill than others, and some have more musical depth and variation than others. It depends on what someone likes and most importantly WHY they like it.

Though the internet has opened up the opportunity for many "aspiring rappers" to flood the tubes with a variety of... quality listening.

1 commentaireIs the tone of your OP meant to sound like you're talking behind people's backs? It's like some weird passive aggressiveness.

1 commentaireGangster Rap = All Hip Hop That's basically like saying: House = All EDM Or Thrash Metal = All Rock

9 commentairesRap and hip hop sound like garbage. Plain and simple. Is it hard to do? Sure, so is shitting through a straw. Doesn't mean its worth anything.

50 Cent's debut album still goes hard

1 commentaireI just don’t like the style. Every now and then I’ll hear a rap and I’ll admit I’m impressed with their lyrical creativity and the intelligence behind it. But I don’t like the way it sounds. It doesn’t make me want to move like some other genres do. Country is the same way, I just don’t care for it. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=I3G-X4K1DcM https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2G5rfPISIwo 80s pop and metal are what I like.

4 commentaires>All they rap about is drugs and screwing girls Often said by users who listen to metal music about skull fųcking fetuses or 70s and 80s music about sex and drugs.

2 commentairesEh! I'm slowly losing the energy to try and open peoples minds even a little. "All rappers are dumb" "Have you heard of Eyedea?" "Nah! I'm not listening to that trash!"

3 commentairesI think the level at which people misunderstand what autotune is and how it works is ridiculous. It’s like, how -blam!-ing obvious can it be. If you hear autotune, the artist is not trying to make it sound like they can sing better than they actually can. Why the -blam!- would someone use a program to make their singing sound better, if the result bares little resemblance to perfect singing? Just think about this for a second. If you’re using a program to mask bad singing, wouldn’t you not want anyone to hear it? Instead, when an artist pulls it to the forefront of their vocals, that means they want you to hear it. Do me a favor, if you’re one of those people who think autotune isn’t used an artistic tool. Click the above link and skip to 6:00. Notice that the vocals are not being processed in order to mask bad singing, and also notice how because of this audio processing, the vocals actually sound like they’re part of the instrumentation. They blend. They almost sound like guitar riffs.

11 commentairesModifié par caligula : 10/28/2017 8:45:33 AMdont understand people who limit themselves to 90s "golden age" of rap because their nostalgia goggles i listen to everything from lil pump to mf doom, variety is the spice of life besides, i dont think anyone would pass you the aux cord again if you put on mf doom in the car

12 commentairesUntil you've actually tried to use auto tune, tried to make a good rap, and tried to make a somewhat decent flow, you can't judge rap. So many people pick up their guitars or turn on Chainsmokers and judge other music so much without knowing a hint of what it's like to actually be doing a certain type of music. I don't care if you think something's easy to make, go and do it yourself then speak. Anyone can pick up a guitar and learn to get good in a few years. Some people fit music genres better to their styles than others. Otherwise, just listen to what you like and quit messing with people. If you think rap takes no talent to make and you've never even touched the subject, then good for you. My personal problem with hip hop and rap, and it's not even my favorite genre.

Rap is like any other musical genre. Eclectic listeners will find great tracks and swerve the bad.

Modifié par FrekMnstr : 10/28/2017 8:07:48 AMWhy did these people ever stop their game of “Shoot! Don’t Get Shot!”, in order to make boop bop music? Seriously, why?
