What did you used to hate...
... But love now (or maybe hate less?)
So yeah, is there anything in Destiny you used to downright dislike/hate/dread that you have come to appreciate?
Maybe it's a subclass, a weapon, a crucible mode, strike, mission or end game content.
For me I'll probably start with the controversial.
Wretched Eye.
I used to hate it soooo much. And that was just the normal strike. Never mind with chaff, or Arc burn with those annoying Shanks!
Now I love doing it. Think I did the recent nightfall about 6 times with one character just to help people out. Despite it's lazy design IMO, it can still provide a genuine challenge.
Shield Bros. Another one that can prove incredibly difficult with certain modifiers. One of the only Nightfalls I ever gave up on once! (though I'd had a few beers which didn't help!)
Now I know where to stand and when, and what adds to keep in check, I regularly run for fun. I also like it when inexperienced people need reviving a lot. Adds to the challenge! (like those who forget when the grounded modifier is active, or like to stand in front of mau'ual.)
VoG. Yes, I only have one completion. That's why. I hated it. Done lots of different stages of it with not enough people and just plain disliked it. Especially the waves and waves of adds at the confluxes (always tried to two man that bit)
Did the 390 with a full fireteam last week and loved every minute. Can't wait for it to come back around.
Supremacy. When that first appeared, I didn't enjoy getting lots of kills, then dying and watching one person from the other team mop up all my crests. But the Iron Banner supremacy gave me a good stint at it and now it is a favourite mode of mine. Possibly the favourite next to Control.
Twilight Garrison. First time I used it, I was like oh, you can dodge a bit in the air. Big whoop. Wanna fight about it?
Yeah. Let's just leave that stupidity there. Double pressing circle is now a habit I can never get out of!
So.. What about the rest of you?
Edit: Weapons are the most popular so far it seems! Unsurprising given the sheer amount of them and change of meta over the years.
2nd Edit: Still mostly weapons. No armour though yet.

I personally hate only 3 things about destiny: Shotguns, smoke, and when the gunslinger super making a gust of wind on activation so you can't tell if they used it. I mean, the revive sound effect blocks it out sometimes :/

2 commentairesFusion rifles but now I'm more comfortable with them. Solar based subclasses! Never ever liked them but now throwing solar grenades and watching the burn is actually really cool....or should that be hot ??. So, if there's a solar modifier I feel more comfortable.

4 commentairesFusion rifles. In y1 and most of y2 I just didn't like them because of the charge up, but once I fou d a few I liked I got hooked on them for pve. Sad they're going to be heavy only in D2

6 commentairesPulse rifles. I have never been a fan of them, even when we had those two pulse rifle metas. Ever since I got a Parthian Shot with Hand-laid stock and Counterbalance I am thoroughly enjoying it.

1 commentaireGood for you👍 You were bad at a part, grinded it til you master it. For me, it was AKSIS Phase 2, almost a year ago when it debuted. I felt really beaten by that battle. After finishing my 3 characters. I volunteered LFGs and grinded it that weekend. By week 2, I was a master. Those were the days before Dark Drinker was discovered to be good on AKSIS . It would take us 4-5 phases. Now some people do it in 1 phase.

1 commentaireThe only thing I can think of is "[b]The 4th Horseman[/b]". I got this from my first completion of the Prison of Elders. At the time I only had 1 Exotic weapon to my name ( The Last Word ) and I desperately wanted one of the following; Hawkmoon Montecarlo Red Death Thunderlord Gjallarhorn Instead I got an Exotic shotgun. My experience with the Beta taught me that shotguns were useless in PVE so I wasn't exactly thrilled with my new Exotic. I was actually appalled when I equipped it for the first time and I witnessed it's horrendous stability, it's pathetic reload speed and it's piss poor range. I came to these forums to rant about it and I got educated by some more knowledgeable players. I levelled it up and I discovered that The 4th Horseman was a potential Major/Ultra slayer if you were brave/stupid enough get up and personal with some Destiny's stronger PVE foes. I used to walk right up to the Archon Priest and just unload all my shotgun ammo right in his face back in HOW days.

1 commentaireAuto rifles. I got a REALLY bad taste in my mouth after the initial Suros Regime meta way back in Year 1. I was more interested in Hand Cannons and Scout Rifles so getting melted again and again by the Regime was no bueno. Now, though, I sometimes use an Extremophile 011 and it's fun as all hell, especially in Mayhem playlists.

2 commentairesI'm a day one hunter but I secretly used to loathe that i was almost useless to team in hard raids for the first year. Now, nightstalker is one of the top tier pve classes right up there with defender. I made the right choice
