EDIT:: Emblems are confirmed to be returning in Destiny 2!!!!
Read the whole thing. I mention a few times that if the Emblem system no longer exists in Destiny 2, then perhaps it'd be feasible to still see them in the game as something else. Perhaps there is a new revamped Emblem system that we don't know about, or they're bringing in patches, or armor designs based around accomplishments. We don't know. But there will be something emblem related in the game. Trust me on that.
Emblems will return in some form. It's a core mechanic of Destiny, and the on-going series.
Emblems, man. They're more than just a pretty design. They're a symbol. An insignia. Proof of our accomplishments over these past 2 1/2 years.
We need Emblems to carry over. We'll be 2 years into Destiny 2, and new Guardians will be asking "Where did you get the Emblem?", and you'll tell them you killed Oryx on Hard. They'll have no idea what you're talking about, but they'll know Oryx from the lore of Destiny 2.
EDIT:: People seem to misunderstand the paragraph above. They assume I'm going to be running up to everyone telling people how I got an emblem. Why is it so difficult for people to use their heads and not their asses? People ask. All the damn time. Especially new players. "Where did you get that Emblem?" "Where did you get that weapon?" "Where did you get that Shader?" "Where did you get that armor?" It happens. People ask. I was only giving an example of someone hypothetically asking where you got an Emblem from.
Jeez.
Emblems are more than a picture we collect. I have not taken off my Rising Light Emblem ever since I received it a year ago. I would like to wear it proudly in Destiny 2, as either an Emblem or a design you can place on your armor.
We earned our Emblems. We raided. We destroyed bosses in Strikes. We stomped noobs in Crucible. We fought and bled for the factions in the game.
Our Emblems are ours.
We should be able to carry them over. If there's no Emblem system, then perhaps as a patch or a design for armor. Anything at all.
I don't care about the weapons or the armor not transferring over. I'd much rather show my accomplishments.
EDIT:: "Same argument" "Same post". Riiiight, cause everyone else covered all their bases with some decent arguments. /sarcasm
I did not come here to complain. Yet people still come here with a dick up their ass, crying and complaining that I'm "complaining". Grow up, people.

I'm glad emblems aren't being carried over, and I'm a week one player. *Must have HM Crota emblem (from years back) to be in my <insert new raid here> group* -sounds completely dumb and unnecessary. It's time to move on, and let go. You seem to be having trouble with that.. and it's only been 2.5 years..
Just looking at your three characters choices on emblems. Not one of them "stands out." Did you wish they did? If so, which one?
If we learned anything from D1, it's that petitions do not work because they already have the base game and the first 2 dlcs completed and ready.
-
Pitiless Bargain emblem would be nice to carry over but que sera, sera.
-
Yeah, does it really matter? "Oh, I got this 5 years ago doing a thing." 🙄 they're just cosmetics pal. If you need to remember what is so good about it buy a diary and fill it full of memories.

There's to reason to in the first place, new players will probably be like "hey, that emblem looks stupid" because all emblems are just dumb in the first place, and the ones that look decent, everyone has and or are handed out for free or cost money

People get too attached to bloody digital art lol

37 commentairesModifié par JHarv : 3/16/2017 8:28:21 PMNo reason not to? Here's a few: "LFM brand new raid, must show that you have some knowledge of previous destiny raiding with D1 emblems" "LF 2 strong PvP players for flawless run. Must have D1 trials emblem" "Oh cool I just bought this brand new game! Can't wait to be a part of a new community that's all starting off together!" (goes to forums...) "If you don't have D1 emblems you're a casual scrub. I am superior because I've played Destiny before!" "Damn, I really wanted to try this new game but I already feel like I'm behind. I didn't get to carry any of my old accomplishments forward like everyone else has, so no point in starting now. Will not buy!" A new start hurts nobody, and entices new people to try Destiny. Carrying anything forward will lead to elitism and make people feel like they're behind or have missed out, which leads to less people buying the game. People like buying new games. People don't like buying expansions to games as much. Simple. And I'm sure ActiVisions research will support that.

6 commentairesCan we just not have old shit in a new game? I want a fresh start. Like fresh fresh. They already said d1 players will get some type of d2 rewards for d1 accomplishments. Is that not enough?

Modifié par Hey Im Swat : 3/17/2017 8:00:16 AM
No reason not to
Who said Destiny 2 will feature emblems? If Destiny 2 doesn't have emblems then that's a perfect reason.
-
I mean there is a reason not to... If Bungie wanted to completely remake/upgrade the emblem system (Animated or 3D emblems) then the current emblems would have no place in D2.
-
I agree that these accomplishments should be represented in the future of the franchise. I was thinking about this just the other day, so it really made sense when you said that emblems would make a return in 'some form.' If they were to take a CoD approach (as in, allowing us to be able to create our own emblems) they'll probably be exclusive outlines/shapes of some sort.

He tried so hard and got so far But in the end, his posts are still awful He thinks he's smart on the forums But in the end, he simply gets muted
-
The most logical reason for why emblems won't carry to D2: you can just make your own emblem like you could way back in halo 2.

BUMP!!!

lol if you paid money for emblems

My hope is that every single feature from Destiny 1 is left with Destiny 1. Its a three year old game. We need to let it go. It sucks that we've been collecting and earning awesome stuff, but its time to start fresh.
