My squad leader ordered me and my partner to sweep the houses on the left side of the road. We decided to split up to make it go by faster(mistake), i knocked on the door and there was no answer but i heard shuffling inside, so i kicked the door open and yelled for any civilians to get down. I come in and everyones laying down, i checked the first room and it was clear. I checked the second room and it was clear as well but when i turned around to exit the home a 11-13 year old boy was pointing a .32 at me. Before i could even get a word out or move he fired, hitting me directly in the shoulder underneath my collar bone knocking me back against the wall, and once again in my right thigh. At that point my adrenaline was sky high and i felt barely any pain, my only instinct was to secure the area. Unfortunately i was forced to eliminate the threat posing to myself and my squad, in which doing so enraged the father who charged at me and was also neutralized. These scars serve as a reminder to me as what i would endure to protect my country and its citizens, no matter the circumstance, However something like that haunts you, even though my options were limited i had to react quickly and i have to live with my decision for the rest of my life. Guns dont kill people, its the person behind the gun and the morals they were taught that do the killing. As for getting shot, adrenaline is the best pain killer, the real pain is getting the bullets out and waiting on the wounds to heal. And lots and lots of Bourbon.

Almost shot my eye out with my Red Ryder when I was younger. I pulled the trigger when I thought that it wasn't cocked in my tree house and the bb started ricocheting everywhere. I was too tense to close or cover my eyes. Luckily it didn't hit me at all.

Listening to every sound to know if it was ours or the enemy. All of a sudden. I hear the whizz of foam and rubber fly through the air. I look back. A good man in my squad is down. "GET DOWN" I yelled to the rest of my group. I crawl to my injured mate. And rip that nerf dart off his chubby cheek. "We're gonna get you out of here!" I say. He lifts his eye toward the sky and says. "It's too late, wildcat, I'm long gone." In rage I load my pistol with 6 limited edition camo nerf darts. "This one is for you, anon." I think. I flank to the left and peg two that weren't paying attention. Have to get to a log for cover as fire races past my faces. Then I feel it. "ITS HIGH NOON" A voice said in my head. I stand up and peg the rest of the enemy squad before they can load half a dart. So. OP. no. I ain't been shout before. But I know a hella brave soldier that took one. It was the best 6th birthday ever.
