I have 50-70 mbps download speed consistently. I am hard wired, and I don't have connection issues in any other games. However when playing crucible I am always red and yellow bar. I frequently get the 'contacting destiny servers' message. I have tried all kinds of troubleshooting. Still nothing works. Any thoughts?

1 commentaireDude it's a online game it's not gonna be 100% lag free.

Nothing you can do. It is all on Bungies side and they refuse to fix it. I recommend TF2! It is vastly superior to Destiny.

My line is 60 down 10 up. Last week I was red bar in PVP. My speeds were around 40 down 2-3 up. Most people would see 40 down and thinks that's ok but it just tells me something was up. Found out my modem was shot. Even tho I was getting pretty good speeds. Your router or modem might be the problem even tho they are working.

Are your ports open?
-
Have you tried running it via WiFi?

Modifié par Caligrown85 : 12/6/2016 6:08:20 PMI live in California (Sacramento). I have a fiber optic connection that is hard wired. gotta love when the game shows that I am lagging. makes no sense to me.

U need to log in to your router and make sure upnp is enabled. If u don't have an option for it the u can manually forward the ports to the ps4 . If u go to portforward. com they have an easy to follow tutorial. It will make a world of difference.

Speed hardly have any effect on gameplay. It's all ping/latency. Make sure other devices aren't streaming or downloading. If your router is new and up to date then it's likely your ISP.

1 commentaireIt's your ISP. I had issues a year or so back despite having "high speed" internet and being hard wired. I loaded up Destiny, called my ISP, they checked it remotely and then they said there was a problem on their end. A tech was sent over a couple days later and it was determined that my signal was weak. How can that be I asked? I'm paying $100/mon for good internet. I told them they had one chance to fix it or I was switching providers. I have zero issues with my internet and rarely get disconnected or get any error codes when playing Destiny.

There was a oust like this a couple of days ago. Some guy was really raging about how good his internet speed was and how Destiny was the only game affected There was an edit below saying he rebooted his router and it fixed everything

Player to player matchmaking Nuff said

I was getting the same thing, even though everything g else on my network appeared to be functioning normally. I ended up needing to replace my modem

6 commentairesBandwidth (speed) is a poor measure of connection quality. Destiny uses less than 1mbps. Speedtests may show favourable results but to get a better idea you'll need to run them frequently. Are those speeds you show from the dashboard or from a browser? Go to settings, network, detailed network statistics. Then post those results including ping. Do you ever change your console's location to buy from other country's stores? Make sure it is set to your location. Have you changed any settings in your router? Portforward? DNS? UPnP? Where do you live? Give me some more info and I'll try to help.

Same, I always red bar in destiny pvp but when I play titan fall 2 my ping is always in the green and I can actually have some fun in pvp.
-
All about the ping bro.
-
Was nasty no matter what I was doing last night. Especially at tower

1 commentaireI'm in the same boat. I rarely play crucible because of it. Don't want to get banned for something stupid like that.
-
Better bandwith is a good start because if contacting destiny servers consitently that most likely. If you havent reset your router in a while do that its should help a little.
-
It is terrible now.

Modifié par SmashvilleViking : 12/5/2016 7:44:56 AMYour connection speeds mean very little, unless you are the host. In P2P, your connection is based off of the ping (latency), packet loss, and jitter.
-
It's pretty awful right now.
-
Could be your packet loss or upload speed, they matter more
-
11 commentairesThat's because the other players are lag switching causing everyone to lag it's a problem in crucible and they are not doing anything about it. Personally I won't buy destiny 2 until they remove the damage ref and fix the cheating in this game it's horrible

2 commentairesModifié par jnikoley : 12/4/2016 7:03:49 PMDestiny only uses about 1 Mb per second up and down max. Your bandwidth is not as important as ping, jitter, and packet loss. Here's a test you can run for ping, packet loss, and jitter from your consoles web browser: http://www.dslreports.com/pingtest

4 commentairesI have 150 Mbps It's not the red and yellow bars, it's the green bars that lag that piss me off
