Is there actually a game out there that's so far into the pay-to-win model that when you load it up it prompts you to input your credit card number and then sells you upgrade package after upgrade package until either your card maxes out or you have managed to get every single one of the best pieces of gear in the game, your character is at max level in every respect, all of the activities have been marked as completed with top scores, and a screen flashes up saying "YOU HAVE WON THE GAME WITHOUT EVER ACTUALLY PLAYING IT AND NOW HAVE NOTHING TO DO IN IT EXCEPT PURCHASE VANITY ITEMS! CONGRATULATIONS!!!"
Because I'm tired of people pretending that Destiny has to reach that depth of depravity before it qualifies as pay-to-win in any way.
By the way, if there actually is such a game, anyone dumb enough to actually play it should be locked up before he hurts himself.
Things Bungle has sold for real money in Destiny:
* Packages containing telemetries.
* Reputation boosters.
* Packages containing infusible armor.
* Booster packs that immediately upgrade a character to level 20 AND fully upgrade a subclass.
Telling me that Destiny doesn't count as pay-to-win because it doesn't fit the extreme scenario outlined above sounds a lot like saying:
"Bungle isn't hitting you because Bungle is only punching you in the face; they'd have to be bashing your head in with something like a metal baseball bat for it to count as hitting you. LOL"
This is the mentality of an enabling abuse victim.
Think about it. Please.

10 commentairesPay to win gives an immediate advantage to people who pay. Black Ops 3 and AW have it in the supply drops (IW will probably eventually have it). Is Bungie charging micro transactions for vanity items bad? Definitely. Is Bungie adding micro transactions to the game a good thing? No. Is this defined as pay to win? No, as these items still need gameplay to have an immediate impact on player power, while pay to win would give fast tracks to exotics or have some really powerful weapon in the random boxes that you have to pay for to get.
