So me and my friend were having a debate on witch game is better. Witcher 3 or skyrim
I believe that witcher 3 is FAR MORE superior then skyrim. Better story, characters, and better fighting mechcanics, and lets not forget the beautiful world. My friend thought skyrim was better and gave NO valid reasons beside "we can fight dragons lolz." so what game do you like better? Witcher 3 or skyrim and some reasons.
Triss all the way
Can Geralt do this?

It felt like the world was very much alive, it had good depth, cities looked like actual cities instead of just a bunch of houses. And it had a a story that made sense, and since you as the player had a specific role inside the world as Gerald people reacted realistic (again in a videogamey kind of way), you felt your character was actualy there and belonged their. In Skyrim (and other ES games and Fallout ect) it feels like your just a floating camera with a bunch of stats flying around in a big sandbox with no actual presence. Compared Skyrim was very shallow. I like both games but the Witcher 3 was much better in every way.

Has won more goty titles ever. Many consider it a game of a generation. It set new standards across the gaming community. Dlc is the size of other AAA games with only 20$ price tag. The only complaint it normally get is it's combat which still better then Bethesda simple keep hacking and slashing till it's dead method. Skrym is a very fun game but doesn't comes close the witcher level nothing does really. The results do bother me but I can take solace in the fact that outside of these forums is on the witcher 3 side. I think Bethesda could over take this juggernaut if they wrote a cohesive story and put more depth into there combat also rely less on a modding community to fix there games and keep it whacky and fun. CDPR is a developer all other developers should look up to and strive to be like. Fun fact there only QUARTER of the size of the biggest developers out there

2 commentairesSkyrim is a mediocre game that's been immortalized for no good reason, and owes its player base to the modding community. The gameplay, story, and world are all rather cliché and grow repetitive insanely quick. The only reason the lore gets off free is the fact that Bethesda have been rubbing their two chromosomes together to make it since the 90s. Even then it's a jumbled mess of retcons and rewrites.

As much as I like Skyrim and ES in general. Hands down Witcher 3 blows it out of the water

2 commentairesCan Geralt dragon-shout people off of mountains? No. Can the Dragonborn have gratuitous sex with who ever he feels like? No. I'm torn.

Haven't played Witcher 3. So.

I like Skyrim more, because your character is a complete blank slate. You create your character and you decide what kind of person that is. You want to be a Paladin? Done. You want to be an Assassin? Done. You want to be a mage? Done. I love that. The Witcher 3 is fun, but you are definitely always playing as Geralt
-
They're two completely different games.
-
I love both. Totally different games though, it's hard to compare them. Skyrim is more so based on exploration and freedom of choice when it comes to spec-ing your character and approaching different situations. The witcher is obviously more focused on narrative elements like world building, character development and over-arching story. Both games do what they do very well.

I like playing Skyrim but there's no doubt that the Witcher 3 is a MUCH better RPG. Bethesda simplified Skyrim, just like what they done with Fallout 4 which completely ruined the game for me. But I still like the TES series, let's just hope they don't ruin TES VI and that Obsidian make another Fallout game.

Witcher 3 is the better game. But it's a tie between them on which is my favorite

1 commentaireIt isn't really even a contest. Skyrim is easily the worst Elder Scrolls game first of all. And secondly, the Witcher 3 raised the bar on nearly all levels; it is easily the game of the generation; and has been named the greatest game of all time (thus far) by many. Skyrim wasn't even the best ES game of its respective generation, Oblvion is far ahead of it.

4 commentairesHeard witcher was like skyrim but better, Played witcher, instantly got bored after fighting the Griffin and Golem. Combat didn't like, intro didn't hook me, the magic/abilities didn't really feel cool.
-
1 commentaireLol my playtime with witcher is around an hour and I can already tell it's better. But I'm nothing more than a troll so I guess I only like bad games. So I guess Skyrim wins this round.

4 commentairesThe Witcher 3 has been on sale for REALLY great prices on PSN 4 times now. I still don't have it. It doesn't really interest me.

1 commentaireIt seems the definition of Role Playing is actually not the definition of role playing. I'm just going off the other comments don't mind me

4 commentairesIt's The Witcher 3 and here is why: Skyrim has some really high highs. Don't get me wrong, it is an outstanding game I will shower praise on. Skyrim was at the time the benchmark for sandbox worlds to explore. The lore was fantastic. Exploring was incredible. Story was decent. Visuals were decent. Gameplay was decent. We accepted the jank and "good enough visuals and story" as a compromise for having such a massive world. CDPR broke that myth. CDPR didn't compromise. The Witcher 3 delivers everything Skyrim did with the outstanding visuals, story, and attention to detail. Your friend is wrong. Just look at a city in Skyrim compared to TW3. Novigrad is populated with thousands of NPC's, dozens of stores, districts, detail, it's own politics and culture. What was the biggest Skyrim city? The name alludes me. It's on a perch overlooking the water. How much detail is in that city? How many NPC's with their own unique look and daily routines?

15 commentaires"Better fighting mechanics" I chuckled. You know Witcher's combat was considered a low yeah? It's no better than Skyrim.

2 commentairesModifié par Abe Lackman : 9/23/2016 2:28:44 AMI always felt that the Witcher series was more restrictive in terms of actually roleplaying. Having a voiced character with a deep backstory sort of eliminates the RP from RPG. I can still enjoy those types of games, hell, Mass Effect is my favorite series, but they're not as open ended as games like Skyrim in that regard. I also preferred the diversity in combat styles that Skyrim had (even if it was more shallow than previous entries in the series), but the Witcher obviously has a deeper combat system as a whole. I liked being an archer with one character, a mage with another, or a warhammer wielding barbarian with a third in TES, but the Witcher series is 99% about swordfighting. I haven't finished the Witcher 3, so I can't really pick between the two, but the Witcher 2 was definitely weaker than Skyrim and a more accurate comparison since Skyrim and the Witcher 2 came out the same year.

3 commentairesI'm triggered beyond what is possible for even the most triggered of tumblrers. Skyrim is a glorified hack and slash that shouldn't be called an rpg. Did nothing special or better than previous games and when it did it had 2 thinks done worse than the previous titles. If skyrim was the first of a franchise, I would probably not hate it.

3 commentairesThey're not even close. Skyrim is in the nfl. Witcher works at the Wawa next to the stadium.
