Scrota's End still gives you duplicates if you don't have the shader on your character. Hard Crota was the first raid I ever did, which I did on my Titan, and I got the Glowhoo. I used the Taiko-not-compliant-with-any-shader back then, and the astronaut helmet and bright blue gear looked really weird together, so I put it in the vault. I did Crota a couple times with a group a while back, including once on my Titan and found the Glowhoo once again in my postmaster when I went to the tower.

I ran it so much cause the black hammer would never drop for me. Finally got it around my 80th run, about a month before they changed the perk so that it took ammo from your inventory. Now I just run it solo to get the shards so I can exchange them for motes to stock up for RoI.

Take your time with Crota normal it's not that hard now especially with the right weapons. Good YouTube tutorials. Sleeper can take out shriekers even when closed in one shot and destroys the death singer and you can make Crota kneel with one hit from the solar sword heavy strike. Also one dragons breath and a grenade will make him kneel as well. I use this when I run it with my Titan.

335 Dragon's Breath will make him kneel with simply just a rocket, and it's what I did my first ever Crota solo with (year 2 player without Raze-Lighter so I was kinda screwed when it came to taking Crota down; I spent a ton of time testing a bunch of different weapons before Dragon's Breath managed to garner two downs in a row. However, it's wildly inconsistent. 1-round magazine, lowest-in-class blast radius, no tracking, and if Crota backs out of the AoE, you're screwed, but if RNGeezus is nice to you the slow, steady damage ticks of Dragon's Breath give you plenty of time to time your jump to start slamming. Double fusions and double magnetics both work as well per source. I personally use Telesto. A 335 version will 3-burst him although it's a little unreliable if you don't hit him with all of the bullets in each shot. The delayed explosion keeps his shield from regenerating while allowing you plenty of time to get up to slam him. Also, I'm planning to test out Wombo this weekend on Crota.

That's why I throw the grenade after I shoot the rocket. I aim the rocket at his feet so he is in the middle of the blast and the grenade takes him down before he has a chance to walk out.

I also had issues with the napalm canister bouncing off of Crota and landing a few feet in front of him, and the fire makes it really hard to see if Crota's health is going down. Telesto was more consistent for me. Also, Bolt-Caster will take Crota down in two R2 attacks but there's a glitch that prevents you from grabbing the sword while the sword animation is finishing up. Caused much rage when I tried doing it in a flawless run. Lol

Yeah when I do it with my hunter and use raze lighter that happens. Screwed up my first flawless then learned to hit the button then hold it down

I probably use titan for weapons of light on crota

Everytime you run the Crota raid on normal you get the green emblem and cryptographic shader if it isn't in your inventory and since I don't like them I delete them. If your emblems and shaders are full they go to the postmaster.
