The people directing the movement definitely have an agenda that doesn't coincide with the message. And the people who are actually in the streets believe that message. I can't say that they're really a hate group, because it's just a lot of people being used and manipulated without their knowledge.

We're only half way through the year and we're at 600. Last year, the total was 1,200. Now, lets see how many people will be killed by police (regardless of guilt) in a single man's life time. 1,200 x 95 = 108,000 people killed by police in your life time. Effectively, you have a 27/800,000 chance of being killed by a cop in your life time. Which, now that I've done the math, doesn't seem that bad. But, lets do a comparison just because I would like to. There's an annual 12,000 Homicides in the US. 60% of those are committed by black men. 13% of those are black on white murder (according to FBI Homocide Table 6). So, Black men (on average) murder an annual 936 whites a year. In a life time (assuming race rates don't change) that's 88,920. I have an opinion regarding the subject. But If I were to spout it off no one would learn anything, I'd get labelled under a group, and some would agree while others would not. So Instead I'd like to make a suggestion to open minds on all sides. List a set of standards to be upheld, and hold all to the same standards. Apply the same critique to your alignment that you would your opponent. True justice and true fairness is harsh and unwavering while not bound to any political alignment. Put the world on trial.

I don't think BLM is a hate group in it's ideology but it attracts lots and lots of black racists, same way with Trump who attracts lots of racists. So supporting either one of those is catastrophic for the country. What we need to do is look at why these cops are so trigger happy around black people. I didn't care about Trayvon and Mike Brown (or at least that's what I think his name was, I don't remember it correctly) but the Sterling's video was truly horrifying and it made me think twice about the whole situation. I believe the problem is that black suspects are more likely to shoot cops than white suspects and the fact they commit more crime than any other race in the country makes the matters worse. Addressing police brutality is very important but I think the main problem lies in black culture of USA. They need to work on their community, improve the education, address the problem of high rate of single parent households and I think if they improve these, police bias against the black community will likely decrease. If the case was police are simply racist and there is institutional racism in the country, then Indians and Asians wouldn't have better wages, education...etc than white people of the country (look it up, Indians average around 100,000$ per household while whites are sitting really low at 60,000$). Just my two cents.

Anyone who claims black lives matter is about police brutality and not race is either being dishonest or not very smart. When was the last protest for a black officers shooting a black suspect? 13.2% of cops are black and studies show black officers are 3.3 times as likely to fire their weapons than other officers. By those numbers one can infer black cops are shooting black suspects. Where's the outrage when that happens? Nope, it's only when a white officer, or someone who they can label as white, shoots a black suspect.

You know it probably wasn't started as a hate group. What happened was that they felt injustice and that injustice they felt manifested into hate and maybe a list for revenge. That may be the case. But hey I'm no expert so don't sue me for it.
