Tldw it has the potential to, but with lag and bungies weird way of balancing thing it's up to them if they want this game to be a competitve title.
What's everyone's thoughts on this current version of pvp? I'm currently over it, and very short fused with it.

It needs a few things to be competitive. 1. Private matches. 2. Game lobbies where everyone is on the same playing field as far as latency is concerned. 3. An established code of rules for what defines "competitive" elements of play to be used. Things like limits on weapons, ammo, perks, and armor. Without these three, I just couldn't consider it to be a competition. Though personally I wouldn't mind an ability/perk free game mode where it's just you and your gun against everyone else in the same boat. Now that would be competitive in my book.

Never will be . Red Bar Crew win every match. Doesn't help that Bungle matches you with players 3000 miles away in America when it completely ignores people that live 20 miles away.

1 commentaireI love it, but I have to limit myself. If I play too much, I get too jacked up and competitive. I love Iron Banner, so I save most of my PvP time for that week. I think you have to go in with the goal to just have fun -goof off, try new weapons, mess with your subclass, see if you can find a new way to play. Just have a mindless good time. If your not, then stop and play something else. Seems like that's where you're at. Folks who take themselves too seriously in PvP are usually miserable when they play it. If your miserable, don't play. That said, it's like golf, you suck at it, but there was that one shot...so you keep playing to get the one shot again. As for the lag and cheaters, I think it's gotten better, but I could be wrong. Play on Guardians, play on!

1 commentaireNo because there's no competition when you spawn in a game where the enemy team has full supers and both heavies. (That just happened to me)
-
1 commentaireIt's not competitive because it's based on who has the best connection to the game not so much skill.
-
No, it is all about the red bar warriors!
-
Competitive to some degree. With a ton of ways to one hit kill someone it heavily appeals to the casual crowd though. Dying a bunch? Well here's a super, get a kill. It's the same when CoD started adding deathstreaks and then ultimately a point based streak system. There's more money in the casual audience than in the hardcore audience. So a half-assed competitive-ish game that appeals to casual gamers is the best we'll get out of Bungie, especially when they're tied with Activision.

NO! No custom matches, radar always on. Weapons are no where near balanced. Supers do not feel like supers. Exotics should be better than what they are. Destiny is still in the beta mode. Lag is atrocious.
-
Two pulse rifle archetypes & one hand cannon archetype pretty much destroy everything else. The classes are too different for them ever to be similarly strong as well as weapon archetypes. There's sbmm in pubs but no competition support or ranked playlists or custom matches. Exotics are seemingly too difficult to balance around. Perks like hidden hand or luck in the chamber should not exist in a PvP environment, while perks like guerilla fighter or surrounded are completely useless.

No ranked or unranked playlists. No dedicated servers. No custom games. Need I go on ?
-
More balanced than ever before.
-
2 commentairesIt's not well designed to be competitive but it seems s large number of players try to make it competitive.
-
Its a competitive game, but it cab never be used for competitive tournaments like mlg. Its too unbalanced and laggy for that
-
Yes because no one wants to lose, everyone what's to win that's why shooting pvp's are always competitive.
-
Overly. Every fkn game is a sweatfest and I have to work my bollocks off to break even.

4 commentairesWhen it comes to debating what is OP and what should be nerfed, then yes, it becomes a pissing contest.

1 commentaireNot after that last patch. Now we just throw foam at each other and use pillows for cqc.
-
1 commentaireIt has potential but nope
-
Been playing online multiplayer shooters for over a decade and can honestly say destiny has a very competitive PvP. It could be so much better with private matches.

1 commentaireModifié par Heidegger : 6/23/2016 12:02:43 AMOnline only can never be truly competitive. Its why I love the FGC community, they settle that shit face to face not through an internet connection.

1 commentaireNo way in hell, man. There's so many random little variables in play that there's no real way to balance for skill. If they wanted a competitive PvP environment, they'd have to start over. Set perks on every gun, less potent exotics, custom game settings... oh, and no more console-exclusive maps and guns. If Destiny ever got a tournament scene, they'd likely use PS4s at the event, and anyone originally playing on Xbox One would not only have the disadvantage of a different controller (which they could mitigate), but also having maps and guns in play that they've never had to deal with before. That gives an unfair advantage to PS4 users. And Activision is too greedy to ever stop shilling out to Sony, so... Yeah, no. Destiny will never be competitive. And, really, what do you expect from Activision? A game that ISN'T made for the lowest common denominator?

4 commentairesNo internet based game can be truly competitive. Only LAN is true competion. Dedicated servers definitely help, but there are still latency issues.
