Oryx and his sister's have been destroying entire systems and species for billions of years, all while chasing the traveler. The traveler tries to fight back every time its found by infusing a chosen species with light. Now it's crippled and can't flee. We, the guardians, are its last defense. We are the "last hope of the light". What oryx is saying is that he has destroyed species after species, world after world, that have been "blessed" by the traveler. What hope do we have to beat him where countless thousands of others failed?
