Honestly, it needs to happen. I played most of my Destiny career on PS3. I got a ps4 in December, and was able to buy Destiny in February. From what I understand, last gen is already struggling with Destiny as is, and I don't think they could handle private matches.
We need to move on from last gen, and move forward with Destiny. I heard that Sony was going to discontinue PS3 servers in 2017 anyway, so PlayStation users will be in the dust. If Destiny moves on to current gen, I think this game has much more potential.
I do realize that some people are less fortunate, and cannot afford to pay for a new console. That is why you should start saving now, for September. Please Bungie, move on.

Of course, and it's overdue at this point, Destiny could have been a much better game if it was only current gen (I know they started making it before XBox One was out but they were still held back by Last Gen and could have just made it current gen, and better for it, if they weren't determined to make the most money possible with every other consideration secondary).

2 commentairesOld hardware is a dominant market so that's a lot of revenue left untapped if you ignore that customer. Video games are made to generate revenue, not force hardware upgrades.

1 commentaireWhat's the point in dropping at this moment all there is left is the April update? I'm pretty sure once destiny 2 comes out it will be current gen only. So please people, knowing bungie I doubt they would make any significant improvements If they just dropped last gen now. This is a business move, you make more money when you sell it to every console. They wanna milk the hell out of last gen so they can make as much money as they can.

2 commentairesLook at Black Ops 3, it had to remove the story mode because PS3/360 couldn't handle it.

Yeah, but it would be nice if people didn't act like pricks about it though

1 commentaireLast gen consoles are always left in the dust. It's just a matter of time at this point.

1 commentaireModifié par Ravontulet : 4/6/2016 2:44:14 PMI think they pretty much confirmed that Destiny 2 is only coming out on the current, 8th generation, of consoles (i.e. PS4 and Xbone) Didn't they ? I have played Destiny on PS3 since the beta, and I plan to finish Taken King and the expansion later this year on this console. But, when Destiny 2 comes out, I will be on PS4 - Everyone knows it needs to happen. And - there are lots of new games coming out in the current generation that I'd like to play. Time goes on - and no console lasts forever. So I understand some holdouts to the last Gen - but the current Gen has to move on without it at some point. So, I think Destiny 2 is gonna be current Gen only and I will be there.

3 commentairesNo, I want to play destiny two on my super Nintendo

2 commentairesI think it's better to leave it on both consoles, as someone who paid money on a last gen console would have a completely useless disc sitting around.

1 commentaireRest assured that Destiny WILL continue to support the PS360 well into 2017. Bungie has painstakingly ensured that all versions of Destiny were exactly the same. They made sure that the differences between the PS4 and the 360 versions were, at best, negligible. It's baffling to me because you can't play against players on another platform, even if the manufacturer is the same. It's also baffling because the current gen versions grabbed nearly 75% of the total launch sales (that was 2014, think of how many 8th gen systems have sold since). But Bungie insists of fully supporting dying platforms with an ever-shrinking userbase. Maybe they're contractually obligated. Maybe it's their archaic development toolset. Maybe they DO live in a bubble. One thing's for sure: if Destiny 2 is announced as a cross-gen game, then I'm done. Period. I won't support a game in 2017 that was designed to run on 2005 tech and all the limitations that come with that.

Destiny 2 will be current gen only but my guess is they'll continue to support last gen till then.

I was on 360 before the Taken King. Just a few days ago I decided to boot up my 360 for my little brother and this is what I find in comparison to an xbox one: - Despite being of the same video quality technically, the 360's scopes and dots that you use when aiming down sights are weirdly fat and clunky, making anything with a red dot extremely inaccurate. This can be fought with practice but it's annoying as hell. -The controller is extremely unreactive compared to the newer Xbox One controller. Although I was playing on the same sensitivity on both One and 360 it seemed that my reflexes were sluggish and undermined because of the delay the controller seemed to give. Once again counterable with practice but still annoying. -Loading times are EVEN LONGER. Opening the menu to pop a synth or change something in your loadout takes ages. I realized when playing a game of control that my melee ability was on invisi-bombs for the hunter and I wanted to change to smoke but was respawned faster than the menu would load EVERY TIME. -Changes like the Damage Referee don't seem to have been as effective. Can't confirm this, it's just a growing feeling. -Finally, there seems to be constant crucible delay on hit registration and kill confirmations. It wasn't personal lag, just an overall unchanging factor.
-
I think starting with Destiny 2, they should only be on current Gen. (Coming from a 360 user)

Yup can't wait for destiny 2 only on current gen consoles.Sorry if you stuck on last Gen but buy it or get left behind.

5 commentairesModifié par Steamed-Chicken : 4/6/2016 11:21:35 AM-Grand Theft Auto Online have completely stopped and updates towards PS3 and 360. -Black Ops 3 wasn't even developed by Treyarch on PS3 and 360. (It runs at 30fps, extremely bad graphics as no campaign) -Battlefield have stopped any updates to PS3/ 360 -Battlefront isn't on last Gen For a large game like Destiny, 360 and PS3 are holding it back badly. Look at the division for example. Destiny could more content and run smoother -We would have had larger vault space ages ago -Vault on your ship -60fps -larger open areas -more players and enemies in a location Many more

1 commentaireI honestly believe that the old console connectivity is one of the main reasons for terrible lag.
