ATTENTION: this thread is for lore speculation and lore related questions please play nice.
So I was moseying about the tower when the postmaster said something about a warlock tower, then after that something about a tower being empty. I believe that their are other towers and those towers also protect the last safe city along with ours. The guardians where crated after the collapse to protect the surviving humans and the traveler so any tower would be at the last safe city. Along with that, if you go by chronological order you (I, we, me, she, he, it) are the first guardian to go to the moon and the other planets with this information we can guess that the city is struggling to maintain order by having multiply military posts or "towers". Since the city is the only safe place and we as guardians are failing to protect the city it's not unthinkable that we have lost ground and had to evacuate a tower. If evacuation was to take place then most likely the classes would split up and fortify positions of their own choosing, which would cause each class to have its own tower. There is also physical evidence of other towers in the outskirts of the wall in the form of a silhouette; if you go to where the bane of crota used to stand in front of her ship and face her old position and look to the right you can see a lone tower. This backs up my theory of multiple towers and the possibility of each class having their own tower. Along with the outskirts based tower the wall protecting the city is not a perfect circle which then invokes the though that there must have been battles that either destroyed the wall or caused it to have maintenance at some point, which leads to a tower being built in that area to enforce defenses in that area.
••if anybody wishes to provide their own theories on anything lore related, post a video pertaining to lore, or discuss my theory then go ahead but play nice.
Edit- while we where not the first guardians to leave the city we where the first to stay loyal and return. If dead or deserted they don't count as a guardian of the city.

If you travel back to where you first start the game in the Cosmodrome, you'll see multiple towers in the distance

Bannerfall takes place on one such tower, actually.

Alright. But then if all of that is speculation then...
who was phone?
10 commentairesThere's Bannerfall. Bannerfall is a Crucible maps. Crucible maps actually fit into the lore because they're secured zones that the City holds and uses for Guardian training. So there's definitely more than just one tower. Also, Guardians were a thing during the Golden Age (before the collapse). During the a TTK mission in Rasputin's Vault (giggity), there's 3/4 terminals that your ghost can scan. He says that the same Guardians have been passing through the retina scans for hundreds of years. Now for the moon, we're definitely not the first Guardian there. There's the lone body we find in front of the Temple of Crota, Eris' team and Toland. They've all been to the moon (and others have been elsewhere, including Mercury) before us.

9 commentairesSo the speaker is a Warlock?
-
The grimoire states there are multiple towers. Even the bannerfall crucible map is in a different tower.
-
9 commentairesYou, my friend, gave me an excellent story idea. Thank you. As for other lore, the Trinity Star Cult, a group of Guardians believing the Speaker and Traveler is evil are speculated to be a group of Hunters only. It's only backed up by the Hunter artifact you can get and a cloak. Man it would be awesome if that cult occupied an abandoned Tower.

Wow great theory!
-
We play in a different tower. Bannerfall.
-
I don't play nice though.

4 commentairesThere were 4 tpwers, 2 got abandoned, and the third, bannerfall, is used as a crucible map. We live in the last tower
-
1 commentaireTL;DR anyone?
-
2 commentairesI think the PvP map would also back up this theory, along with the Sunbreaker quest where you receive the subclass, not saying that it is a map expansion but it does prove there are other factions of guardians out there, along with The Stranger whom you meet on Venus in the main storyline

5 commentairesModifié par TrolleyProblem : 4/4/2016 2:21:19 AMIt is evident that there is more than one tower. Banner fall is a form of in game evidence. If you've followed the battle of twilight gap; you know of an old faction of concordat. During twilight gap, they along with all their followers were wiped out. This of course led to the FWC coming to the tower. And if you look to banner fall. You can see concordat's symbol all through out. There are multiple towers, yes. However I fathom the tower our guardian takes refuge in is the first tower. To our knowledge; there is only 1 speaker. Whilst we have our vanguards below. But before ikora, zavala, and cayde, there were others. Osiris, Tevis, and Saladin (most likely for the last two). I can only imagine ikora and the others were monitored in a selective process in other towers. Our guardian most likely became lucky, as our ghost w just chose the coords to the closest tower being the first. And so our journey begins. But in other towers, the same goes on. Just with differing quartermasters, and representatives. Maybe even differing vanguards (the newer the tower, the less say for the vanguard leaders of those towers) And yes, some walls have been lost. The best way to get more info is to research the battle of 6 fronts, and the battle of twilight gap

Akka has returned.

Ofc, thats what bannerfall os
-
2 commentairesBannerfall. Bannerfall was a Tower structure that witnessed a faction war. That's why you see New Monarchy all over it.
-
1 commentaireIn my opinion, I don't think that would make sense because if each class had its own tower then if they all got attacked each tower would be at a disadvantage because the other classes aren't there to help.
