If someone straight up tells you that they are f*cking depressed and you ask if they're okay and they say "no," don't f*cking ignore them. Jesus f*cking Christ just tell them it'll be okay. Don't just throw your hands up and go "well I don't know how to help you!" No, you can help, just be f*cking supportive. 99% of the time all that person wants to hear is "it's okay" "I'm here" "don't worry" "it'll work out" or "we'll figure it out" or holy f*cking shit maybe they just want a goddamned hug. Just sit there while they cry if that makes you more comfortable. You can make their night go from wishing they were f*cking dead to giving them at least a minuscule sliver of hope. This shit pisses me off.

3 commentairesYou see the thing is, if I'm having an off day (I'm putting all this down to teenage mood swings atm) and someone were to say "it'll be okay" or "you'll be fine", that's not going to help. I'm highly unlikely to believe them and the things that go through my mind, no matter who they are, include: "They're just saying that" "They don't really care" "They'll just go back to what they're doing without even giving you a second thought" This is even if I know those things aren't true. The brain is a seriously weird piece of meat.
