It's overhyped like destiny was so after the lack of anything in the initial release, I don't trust any hyped title.
So now division is hyped, maybe overhyped. What are your thoughts? Will the division follow destiny's path or will it take EVERY games playerbase
P.s. Destiny is a game I love to hate. I play it everyday but there's always a moment where I b*tch about the game (like forever 319 or sbmm).

Dude it's 1to1 new york

I think Titanfall is partially to blame. Brink too
-
Expectations and hype is what will gaming in the next 2-3 years.
-
The Division's beta already delivered a far more enjoyable experience than Destiny's ever did, so whatever the hype, Ubisoft had already created a better first impression. Some of that hype is deserved.
-
Is that a Jaden Smith tweet?

5 commentairesThe Division will soon be Vivendi's little bitch. It's funny how they don't mention that in the trailers. That game has no chance at survival. Bungie could care less about the division because they understand that most of the posts regarding that game are made by the developers of said game. But kids only believe what they want to believe .....when it is popular. Pack mentality and such. The only real threat to Destiny will be itself or No Mans Sky. Which also explains the current content situation as that game doesn't come out till june. Either way, imma go eat some chicken nuggets.
-
Its a brand new game so can easilly take up alot of peoples time. Destiny currently lacks content which is why lots of players are going to other games. Huge issue is that they can't/wont fix issues in the content they have released.
-
14 commentairesIt is, only less because it only takes place in a few mile radius and you collect m16s instead of gjallarhorns. The retards switching over have yet to realize this. None the less, I hope they stay away forever.
-
Then I will get my money's worth and more.

Destiny has no content and I played it for 2000+hours. So even if The Division has no content too, Destiny won't see me again for at least another 2000+ hours.

I played Beta and preordered the game a long time ago on XBone (disk), and also PS4 Digital. To be perfectly honest, after playing first person for so long, the third person gunplay kinda sucked. I'll give it a shot, but the cover-based thing just isn't that appealing. I was also a bit disappointed in the rendering of the buildings, but I'm aware that it's a beta with limited access to full mechanics and parts of the game. I'm also more of a solo player, so The Division may not be the greatest for me.

2 commentairesI love Destiny, been here almost every day since week 1. I am also supremely excited for The Division. Someone asked what could make The Division greater than Destiny and people were saying better loot, more content, an actual plot. Of course, all these things contribute but games like Destiny and The Division live or die by the way the developers engage with the community, how the community shapes and carries itself. Year 1 Destiny was awesome. Lots to do, a clever, engaged, helpful community. But over time it degenerated into elitism, whining, entitlement and complaining. This carried over into year 2 and just got worse with the lack of substance the game currently has. I visit the forums and wipe my boots on the way out. So to answer the question; what could make any game (of this mmo-lite genre) better than Destiny? A developer who sees the mistakes we made as a community and does not allow us to make them again. Does not hide recycled content under the guise of "new and improved". Communicates openly and honestly about both good and bad aspects of the game. Just my ten cents.

Difference is the divisions features are known where destiny lied and let people believe it would be something it's not

7 commentairesPlayed the beta for about a half hour. I had zero fun. It had Sega Graphics, poor character control, and horrid gunplay. It encouraged hiding and walking great distances at a snails pace. If that excites people, let them play it.

Division for me has a massive potential to flop and a massive potential to succeed, but I said the same about destiny. It really is quite stupid to preorder it, it's pretty much got the same pre release hype level as destiny had and it's made by Ubisoft, they've just consistently disappointed.
-
8 commentairesAt this point a N64 re release for the legend of Zelda twilight princess sounds more fun, more engaging, contains more plot, than destiny. Bungie set some low bars so anything hyped or not will be better than destiny

After yesterday, the hype train is fully out of control now. And I'm still not sure it's justified, though I am more optimistic now. Worries: 1. No reviews until release. And their reason about unpopulated servers is bullshit. This is standard practice and people aren't stupid. People would understand that the review wouldn't be representative of populated servers. Are they hiding how short the story is? Or how much recycled content there is? Or something worse? 2. People will be max level in a few days. And the game is releasing with only the dark zone and recycled content for end game. 3. How long until the first incursion is released? 3 weeks? 6 weeks? 4. Incursions are not raids, but are they close enough to not matter? Having only 4 players makes it closer to a Destiny strike. But how close? Are they designed with a lockout and top tier loot? Are their checkpoints for multiple runs? Or are they simpler instances that are designed to be consumed and beaten relatively easily like a strike? 5. Why have they been so secretive about everything? Releasing some info 4 days before the game goes live? Is this weird marketing, or are they just that far behind the content curve, similar to how Destiny released? Hype: 1. Finally some actual pve end game content. 2. Their projected release/update is ambitious. If it's actual, new, good content, that's an exciting schedule. 3. They are promising that each content update won't just be adding content, but adding actual new gameplay. Free update 1: incursion. Free update 2: another incursion, and an update to the dark zone. Speculation: objective based pvp? Paid DLC 1: underground. Unreasonable speculation: randomly generated dungeons similar to Diablo? Paid DLC 2: survival. Unreasonable speculation: day-z like survival mode? (They confirmed its not a horde mode I believe). More reasonable speculation: objective based pve competition.

8 commentairesThe games going to be shit It's going to get even more stale than destinys strikes
-
To each their own really. I plan to play BOTH The Division and Destiny. Destiny through its hardships is a great game, Bungie just needs to start caring more about their fans. They got lost somewhere along the way. The Division, I LOVED the beta. I enjoy TPS and the Dark Zone was a lot of fun. The free updates they're giving in the next two months bring a free raid and a trading system that would've easily worked on Destiny. In short, I'm not hyped, I'm just glad another title besides Destiny is actually making a big entrance for next gen.

6 commentairesDivision has trading

If u don't have friends in the game it'll be boring AF
-
Idk it looks like Ubisoft has this one on lock. I love how long they took to make sure everything was right before the game's release and that they already have the year planned out. This game is ready nuff said....
-
Everyone keeps forgetting these are co op games. The moment someone has no one to play with the game is dead to them.
-
People will run the content into the ground very quickly, just like destiny.
-
Seems to have a really solid year 1 plan. If it makes a decent amount of money with a st omg player base (I think it will), it'll probably come to year 2. I think I read they plan to make it a franchise. By the way, this is a road map, not whatever Bungie has done with the past couple of updates (SOMEthing is coming SOMEtime!): http://tomclancy-thedivision.ubi.com/game/en-gb/news/detail.aspx?c=tcm:154-241886-16&ct=tcm:148-76770-32
