Play original halo and Marathon. You will forget Bethesda entirely.

Marathon honestly wasn't anything special. It was a fun series but just another DooM clone.

Nah, I was struggling to stay awake during a second playthrough of Combat Evolved. Just doesn't have the replay value for me. Definitely a solid game, though.

You've never played costume games have you. [spoiler]Me and two buds could play ghost busters on halo 3 all night if we felt like it. Hot pursuit was a fun one. Fat kid and teacher were more fun with a few more people. We one time mashed together death run and hot pursuit into and awesome "escape" game that we had full party of 16 people playing for about a good hour.[/spoiler] This would be the reason halo 4 and 5 weren't so popular. They put all the focus on warzone/multiplayer instead of the story and consume games.

Yeah, sadly my experience with the custom game modes was limited. You're right, though, (from what I [i]did[/i] get to experience) their suite of options for custom games remains unmatched to this day.
