I've made this thread before and people didn't manage to give me a reason, I thought I'd try again.
Sanders intends to raise taxes heavily on the very rich. AKA the people that create almost every job in America. (Source: http://www.forbes.com/sites/johntamny/2013/12/11/sorry-henry-blodget-but-the-rich-do-create-nearly-every-job/#301e8b3e224e)
When you raise taxes to a whopping 52% on these people, not including corporate taxes, healthcare taxes, etc., you take away the amount of money that they have to pay their workers and the amount of money they have to invest and save. Despite what you may have been told, saving is good for the economy because it puts money back into circulation via banks, and thus stimulating the economy. Investing is good for the economy for obvious reasons.
When you take away all this money (The government owning more of your income than you do is absurd.) from the rich, they are forced to lower salaries for the people that work for them AKA the middle class and poor. Plus all these people have to deal with higher taxes as well. Even more, Sanders wants to raise minimum wage to unsustainable heights, and if they can't lower their pay, the rich have only one thing they can do, and that's to fire them.
In conclusion, everybody will be worse off, especially the poor and middle class. This will cause unemployment to rise drastically, and the standard of living to drop.
IF YOU'RE ABOUT TO MAKE A COMMENT ABOUT TRICKLE DOWN!
Trickle down doesn't work because when the rich get more money, they will keep it, because most of them are greedy. HOWEVER, trickle down DOES work in reverse. In order to keep their same standard of living, and amount of money, the rich will make budget cuts. This is also because they are mostly greedy. The ideal thing to do would be to lower taxes on everyone. That would benefit everyone directly, NOT through trickle down.
Edit:
However my outcome is much more likely than that. This has nothing to do with fact. My whole post is about what will happen.
1 commentaireWell he wants to end privatized prisons and legalize weed...... so thats pretty coool but other than that nothing comes to mind.
Unless of course you're a fan of inflation, unemployment, corruption, stagnation and a bigger government. Or to put it another way if you believe the government is a trustworthy institution as well as the best agency for changing people's lives for the better rather than the individuals themselves than Sanders is your man.
Lol, look at Canada for example. $10.50 minimum wage, a stronger middle class (if you've ever paid attention in economics, a stronger middle class means a stronger economy), goods are cheaper, education is higher, unemployment is lower, life expectancy is higher, etc. Don't sit here and say it can't be done when it HAS been done.

10 commentairesThe rich DO NOT have to lower the salaries of their workers just because they aren't making as much themselves! So they can't take home that $10/$20/$30 million bonus? How sad! I feel so goddamn sorry for them! Wait, no I don't! Just because they're taking home a few million less a year (theoretically) doesn't mean they have to lower worker wages. It's a sad sign when companies feel the need to lower worker wages so the higher ups can continue to take home outrageous paychecks.

If you hate America then Sanders is the fastest way to destroy it. Could be a reason depending on what you want to happen.

3 commentairesModifié par Caligrown85 : 2/9/2016 4:49:58 PMThe only reason rich people create jobs is because they managed to horde money away from the lower classes to the point that the lower classes cannot afford to create the jobs for themselves. You can't allow a minority of people to possess the majority of money in a capitalistic society if you want said society to not implode on itself. Read AND understand some world history before you create threads like this. You are only making yourself look like a fool. You want 1 reason, here it is. I choose to vote for a candidate that is not controlled by special interests. As soon as a candidate accepts millions of dollars from a corporation, said candidate is then forced to do that corporations biddings via politics. That, sir, is not democracy. It is an act which perpetuates a broken system that only favors a very small minority of giant corporations. Corporations focus on one thing, and one thing only. Making money. There is no interest for a corporation to do anything beneficial for any person place or thing without profit being directly tied to it. That is greed, plain and simple. Our country has its values ass-backwards. You want proof, look at BUNGiE. All they care about is the bottom dollar. Profit. Nothing else. The executives could literally give a shit about anything else other than that. They had a perfect game, and it was completely wrecked by BUNGiE's greed, and their need to make more and more money. Remove that factor from the equation, and this game would have been 100% different for the better. They would actually care about what the community wants.

But here's a few reasons why I currently support him.
