Day one guardian here about to take a break - move on
For several weeks I've failed to drop anything from the raid (x3 characters) that increases my light lvl
IB drops shit
NF drops shit
Old raids redundant
Same old tired content with nothing to do
Repeat content with lack lustre weapons and gear
No dlc dropping
Destiny 2 put back
The division and other games appears
And bungie obsessed with pvp - neglecting pve
giving zero pve news -
"Now is the winter of our discontent"
SO DEEJ throw me a bone - tell me and countless others why we should keep playing?
Cos at this moment - Day one guardian signing out.
Edit: Thank you for your replies, some good advice and support. Looks like many of you feel the same way.
To answer the common theme re: Playing for fun.
Most games have an objective, the fun bit is reaching that objective
Else your just running round in circles doing the same thing, which soon becomes boring and pointless.
Destiny objectives are based around light lvl, armour weaponry. Collecting, kd etc
But they're quite linked, and make a difference to your game.
When those items don't drop, you grind until they do. Trouble is they're not dropping for most people.
And the content is becoming stale, with nothing of substance on the horizon
So your back running in circles, repetition with no rewards soon loses its flavour.
So DON'T PLAY I hear you say?
Fine take a break (yep I will)
But destiny is such that if you go away, when you come back you've been left behind and the grind becomes much harder
Look at the specs appearing on lfg with must have bs Tom gallahorn etc
So you're penalised for not staying current.
We have a forum full of discontentment and people leaving - but the band continues to play whilst the Titanic sinks!

Latest Edit:
Boy there's some salt flowing from the Desticles! Don't like anyone dissing your precious game?
Thing is, this game has taken money from us, and delivered content which should of been in the original game.
They've held weapons back, recycled content, nerfed shit cos of all the whinners in pvp who got killed and couldn't handle it - which in turn wrecked pve.
That "Carrot" is always dangling, but never delivered.
But here's where it all falls down:
While we remain divided, nothing will ever change!
Say goodbye, and you get a torrent of abuse saying good riddance, leaving lfg emptier every day (& the game)
Complain about something and all the desticles whinge
Do a poll and it gets ignored
say about VOG needeing a revamp and it's acknowledged and forgotten
The list is endless
Meanwhile back at bungie HQ, they continue to laugh as the $$££ roll in
And all you SHEEP who defend this game are sticking your tongue right down the back of their trousers
Man Up Grow a pair and tell deej, cozmo and the dev's enough is enough
Just leave this here

Someone posted this
http://wastedondestiny.com/xbox/sickchocthunder
(Perhaps i do need to get a life lol)
My point is, I have spent a lot of time to this game, which shows i'm passionate and committed (Or stupid?)
I've virtually played nothing else! That's how good it's been, I can't fault that.
But as time passes i watch it becoming slowly watered down with recycled content, nerfed weaponary. Exotics that just sit in my vault.
A PVE game that's focus has shifted to PVP, because it's the cheaper & easier option.
And when a dedicated fan complains and asks for some news on forethcoming PVE content, the general opinion is "Play something else"
Isn't that worrying to Bungie?
LFG is baron, which highlights the migration of players who are "Playing something else" (This is supported by player's saying they are leaving every day)
Isn't it easier to keep player's than win them back?
But news from the bungie camp is non existent.
Hell i can't even get a reply of Deej or Cozmo, despite this topic trending
So - I'll patiently wait for the weekly update, and if we get fobbed off with more PVP news, some crappy artwork and news that news is pending, then i'll take your advice and put this game down for a while.
Will i be back? As Star Wars battlefront is currently on offer lol - that remains to be seen?
But thanks for all the feedback -
It'd be good for Bungie to review it and actually respond to their audience
As without us - they have No game!

"Deej/Cozmo/bungie pay attention to me or...." K. Play, or don't play. It doesn't matter. You know what helps make destiny fun? Playing another game and coming back whenever. So many people complain that there's nothing to do in destiny anymore. Well....no shit. If you play the same game every day for months on end, you're gonna reach the "bitch about game' stage pretty quick. You know why I have no real problem with Destiny still, even as a day one player? Because I play other games. I've gone for months at a time. Sometimes just days. Sometimes I play days in a row. I change it up. I suggest every player on the forum do the same. Not get on the forums, and complain that a community manager NEEDS to give you a reason to play.

You man up. Play if you want, quit if you want. No one cares.
-
If you're 315 plus with Black spindle and ToM, you won't get left behind. You're already high enough to come back and jump right back in. I have been taking long breaks, only occasionally coming back here and there for short stints.
-
Yo, I don't care if you diss this game or Bungie. However, if you're looking to other people for reasons to play, just leave. You don't HAVE to play. The game isn't for you. Quietly leave. Stop acting like an entitled child and go play games you actually like. That's the reason you play games, because you like them. If Destiny's magic wore off for you, go away. Simple. Stop asking for attention.

(arrow to the knee) "...MESSAGE FOR YOU, sir...!!" ya, I have replied to several other posts like this recently that have garnered no response. I even wrote one myself several weeks back that got me nothing. don't hold your breath

Honestly I agree with you. It used to be my favorite game haven't touched it in about 3 to 4 months now. The raid is just not fun for me, and because I don't like it I have to suffer in ToO the only thing I do like. So at a certain point I'm sick of the disadvantage just because I refuse to waste hours doing something I don't like (raid). I doubt they will ever fix this for me so I doubt I will ever be back. Tom Clancy games seem to be where it's at now.
-
Signed. You get it... Others throwing salt don't understand Destiny needs to significantly change to address the issues you name, or it will simply die out. And, we don't want it to die out. We want it to survive and thrive!

Modifié par JonDoeExo : 2/3/2016 7:59:55 PMSigned, this is one of if not my favorite game despite them giving us a content/information drought of epic proportions, BUT I am actually starting to resent the fact that we have no worthwhile reasons other than the raid to keep us playing on a regular basis. They spent a ton of money and time into all of this old content and it's just sitting there collecting dust within the game. All of that content that we PAID for that is utterly useless. That and the lack of communication and trasnparency has been really driving my salt levels as of late. I still come back each week for Heroic just to try and get to 320 but after that? Therein lies the dilemma for a good chunk of us year one guardians. Going back to the original question of post why should I stay and play this? With the division coming out in a few weeks, the current state of Destiny is really making it easier to jump ship. But I also know when or IF they do announce some more PVE information I will more than likely come back but for now I am more excited for other games. I am a huge Destiny fan but we need some reasons to stay on a regular basis. 100% my opinion btw haha
-
Well buddy just like me you need to take a long break from destiny. It's not worth playing anymore.
-
Modifié par Dr Nafar1ous : 2/3/2016 7:46:18 PMI play only to get the last 3 pieces of 320 gear I need. One 320 ghost, 1 320 Hunter Class item, and 1 320 Warlock Class item. Then I'll take a long break. But Bungie knows that and that's why those final pieces will not drop any time soon. And I will continue to raid and do IB crap.

Man i used to be able to entertain myself with anything in this game..that dreg looked at me funny? Dreg killing spree right here right now. So many aspects of the game were pointless and gave out shit loot but i still managed to really enjoy even doing the more pointless shit. I would go sit down in a group of vex and listen to how the speak in a beepy vex way. Noe I can't even bring myself to enjoy the I actually loved more than doing random shit. PvP. This game is -blam!-ed :(
-
My advice, take that break, play other games. When you come back, don't be surprised (or disappointed) if you don't want to play anymore. Just means the magic wore off and it's time to move on. I took a break over Christmas and haven't bothered to put the disc in the machine again. Too many other games are coming out in 2016 for me to worry about a game that had promise but went off the rails.

1 commentaireThe only thing I disagree with is the money rolling in part. They fired their CEO. The money isn't rolling in to Bungie. They know they have some major problems but for some reason they are just being silent about it and not giving us any kind of road map or explanation. They are treating us like we are children and that they are the adults so we should just be quiet and happy and just walk down the path with them. This has become a very unprofessional position for a company to be in, and also an extremely frustrating situation for us, the consumers. Things need to change for this game to continue.
-
Play another game for a week and come back.
-
No ones making u play
-
From a fellow veteran; move on to other games, refuel your tank and come back later. I'm doing the same thing. Taking a break from Destiny (been a month of very sporadic play time). Will naturally come back if something good is on offer later on.
-
Haven't played in a few weeks. I'm doing fine. Still love the game. Just playing other stuff.
-
Dude, just stop playing. You just listed every reason people have stopped playing. What makes you think Deej is going to give you a different answer? Besides, you're missing some great games. Destiny is done and has been done for months. Move on already.
-
6 commentairesEvery day I read the same stuff. Everyone is complaining about the lack of this and that. It's easy, you either play because you enjoy it or you don't and move on. Bungie is not going to give in to us until the franchise is on the brink of collapse. Hey I have a brilliant idea, GO OUTSIDE. Damn, I'm an older gamer compared to some of you diaper wearing babies. We went outside and played as kids. Life is too short to sit behind a computer or game console, get out and do something else. Go get laid, i bet you'll forget about your titan then. Boobies in real life are so much better than the Queen's. Trust me, step away and appreciate life!
-
One thing that has really been frustrating me lately is the fact that all of the weapons on here are just generic designs with different names, colors, and level classifications.
-
No. Just quit. Be a person of action, instead of a person of words. Too many words on here, not enough action.
-
-
Just leave instead of asking for reasons not to leave lol
-
Beware the ninja justice But this game is trash lol

Modifié par Snugle Wugle : 2/3/2016 4:54:04 PMThe last month or so, the only time I've played Destiny is the occasional Nightfall or crucible session with a friend. I've been spending lots of time playing other games - my list of "games to play" has been steadily growing for a while now - and I have to say, I haven't had this much fun playing video games in a while. It's nice to play fresh games. Destiny is fun, when there's stuff to do, but it has gotten to the point where it's more of a chore than anything. To play a game and simply have fun, it's nice.
