I have never encountered a more broken situation in a raid then I did last night. We were trying to do the Oryx challenge on normal, and we would of had it down on our second attempt. We get to the third damage phase and then an ogre glitches out and teleports to the center row of the arena.
So we go to orbit and attempt the fight again. Same thing, second damage phase another ogre teleports. This continues on for over an hour. Every single attempt we had at least one ogre teleport on us. This is just game breaking and makes the challenge undoable. We finally finished the encounter two hours after we started it when we should of been done in 20 minutes. We went to orbit multiple times, reformed the group once.
It is so discouraging getting to the third or fourth damage phase and having an ogre or multiple ogres glitch that makes the past 15-20 minutes worthless. Fix this Bungie. It is so infuriating playing the raid knowing full well that we can do it and yet being hindered by game breaking bugs only to start each encounter hoping that this one will be normal so we can just be done...
We will be doing the hard mode Oryx challenge tonight with our experienced group, and to be honest I'm dreading it.
Edit: Sorry to disappoint all the elitists out there that like to think it is not a glitch, but it is. Burning them down before they glitch is besides the point, Bungie needs to fix this, not just wait for us to find a way to counter it. And it is not a connection issue, so you can get over that one as well. This problem didn't crop up until challenge mode came, so your arguments about "taken ogres teleport" and any other bs of the sort can stop right there.

7 commentairesI've seen a whole lot of ignorant posts here. Latency breaks the Oryx encounter. If someone has a sudden drop in connection speed (especially the randomized host) there're a lot of things that go wonky. Ever seen a fifth ogre? How about an ogre that was invisible to everyone but one player. Ever see an ogre almost instantly drop to no health then recover half of it's health (kinda like most majors seem to get 'lag correction' in their favor). Ever see Oryx slam the tower, not open his chest then wipe the team, ever see two people clearly jump in order to spawn platforms but they spawn wrong? Ever see the Vessel moonwalk? Ever see the top of the shade's sword come through the floor and kill a player that is still outside the shade's room? Ever see the ship go to warp factor 3 and kill the runner? Ever see the countdown timer freeze on the Sisters for 5 seconds then drop down to 10 seconds less? Ever see the bombs suddenly play musical chairs and shift all over the room? Ever see a taken knight hop off the pedestal and chase someone across the room like Crota? The ogres are supposed to charge towards the middle of the room, using their legs. That's what happens normally, with good latency. Not wink out of existence for a second only to reappear somewhere else. Friends don't let friends raid while everyone else in the house is watching youtube or netflix or downloading a new game.

VoG was more broken then kings fall ever was

4 commentairesAnybody remember Crota shields not dropping and randomly coming back through damage? Good times...

1 commentaireMore dps is your answer it's no glitch or lag (enemies can't spawn on blights so the game moves them) stagger the orges
-
KILL THEM FASTER SCRUB
-
Too much dps pushes them back, so they have to respawn. Just slow down a little bit and they'll be more predictable.
-
Stop using Fatebringer on the ogres and maybe they won't teleport scrub
-
It is not a glitch and it is not lag. It occurs because the orges are standing on the blights. Like any other AoE asset, enemies move away from them. The more blights, the more likely it will happen. Using a stagger sniper will prevent this most of the time. Even if it does happen, it is not a wipe. You have one other person to detonate blights. He should be able to blow two that are close. Sure he lay die, but u only need 4 to dps Oryx down on hard. You should be able to do regular with 3. Stop freaking out when an orge moves. Assign his blight to a person, avoid it till turn 4, and then detonate. We have completed it on hard mode a number of times with up to three orges teleporting. Shit happens. Stay calm and collect loot.
-
Its normal. Usually the last ogre does it.
-
Ogre teleporting is lag, only way to combat is to kill them very damn quickly. Two high level guys in the middle with blessing and 315+ toms will do the trick Don't use the daughters platforms...

This was such a huge issue 3 weeks ago for me. I almost lost my motivation to do it this week. I finished all 3 this week but we did it with no issues this time around. I thought they fixed it but I guess not. My friend told me to chuck a grenade on the forth ogre to insure that he doesn't teleport. Since it didn't glitch hardly this may be a good solution to minimize that particular glitch. However, I believe it is all lag which screws up the encounter.

2 commentairesOgres glitch hard when their heel hits the wall behind them (possibly due to staggering with sniper and having them step back). They have nowhere else to back up, so they teleport to an open spot.
-
14 commentairesIt's not a glitch... Your group is failing to maintain damage on them.
-
Saw it 3-4 time the other night in hard mode. If you knock them back enough they seem to hit the wall and teleport. Gotta take them out faster
-
If its just one ogre teleporting and all the other blights are in place, just have the extra person in the middle go get it. If there's six on your fireteam, four go for blights, that leaves two to get any runaway blights. Thats what my fireteam did a few times. We'd rather risk another person not making it in time than doing the entire thing over again.

Modifié par DarthDucati : 1/8/2016 6:58:46 PMOr.... on your 4th run as you reach the relic, it will not give it to you... Yeah that's fun too! Or 2nd or 3rd you know just to keep it fresh...

Ive done the challenge a few times and have had the ogres teleport once and that was only because it wasnt staggered.
-
We have had an ogre who is staggered being hit with 2 TOM's and a sniper rifle teleport. It's ridiculous.
-
Had two teleporting ogres on my runs as well.
-
The biggest issue is with the ogres. With this last update, the ogres teleport if you cease damage on them for just a moment. One run I was on last week was really bad. One of the blights on the 2nd rotation didn't ignite because of lag so we had to do an extra run at the end. We get to the end (with one person down) and do 3 additional runs just trying to get that last blight. Because the ogres kept teleporting we weren't able to get it, and on that last additional run we killed 1 ogre for it's blight. We killed the Knight, the Vessel, and staggered Oryx. While everyone was still shooting Oryx we had someone run for the bomb, and the moment before detonating it, Oryx lags out and closes his chest. We quit then and there, but most Oryx encounters go something like this.
-
Would have, should have*
-
While that's bad and I've had teleporting ogres in my own runs, it's still not as bad as all the Atheon glitches way back.
-
8 commentairesYou obviously never tried atheon in Y1. KF is a hell of alot more refined than atheon ever was. Face out kid, you are just terrible

Ultra bump happened to me in the last phase

Bungie is messing with stuff, and somehow managing to create new disasters in the game. Noticed how all of a sudden in PVP when you kill some people their bodies just kind of float and ragdoll instead of dropping? Happened to me quite a bit. They don't know how to mess with one portion of code without completely destroying something else, prime example- first IB of year two, TERRIBLE drop rates even though they"changed" the rates. I just come to expect it now, and then insert other game to play. Been rocking a lot of borderlands 2 recently and Fallout 4. At least in those games the bugs make things often hilarious and odd, not ruining your game experience.
