Petition to bind ammo synth/consumables to the D-pad
We've all been there. You're in the middle of fighting that SABER-2 void burn, and suddenly your truth runs dry. You can't open the inventory, you'll be killed. You just have to hope and pray a heavy crate drops from one of the random-ass exploding shanks.
Sign of you're tired of it and want an easier way. Holding a D-pad direction for a second should activate our selected ammo synth. You'll still be able to dance and emote by simply tapping the direction.
Let's get ol' Deej to tell the devs about this. Maybe community wish list?
Edit: dinnydevil said we should be able to bind all items, and I agree. So I changed the title to ammo synths/consumables instead of just ammo synths.
Edit 2: MicroDragonBorn's idea (hold X for several seconds on the weapon and it activates the respective synth) is also great.

Edit 4: A lot of people have been suggesting using the ghost screen to activate synths. I think TheSilverSmoker's idea (open the ghost screen, select between the 3 types of synth with the D-pad and activate with A) is probably the most practical. YOU HEAR THAT, BUNGIE?! ONE MORE GREAT SUGGESTION FOR HOW TO ADD THIS FEATURE!
Edit 5: I encourage you all to follow SirFancyBread's excellent example. Deej will have to take notice eventually. Bump this thing to hell and back.

Modifié par Avfc2k71 : 12/11/2015 12:10:23 PMI've always thought if x reloads a weapon then holding x down for 3 seconds should let you use a synth pack for the weapon that is equipped and being used at the time so you don't even have to take thumb off either stick

Modifié par bootsmane : 12/10/2015 9:31:48 PMI don't want ammo synths assigned to the whole dpad. It should be one button that allows you to pop up a menu and select which one you want. But what I do want is weapons in my inventory assigned to the dpad. It would make this game so much more strategic in crucible it would be almost a whole new experience. When heavy ammo is about to become available and if you go into your inventory to switch on your truth you will die. There are enemies coming in hot to get heavy. If you wait and switch you may get killed. Or a teammate could pick it up before you switch and now you just wasted it. Now imagine being able to hit up and switch out your exotic primary for the legendary primary in that slot. Thus replacing it so you can switch back later. Hit the down button and bam truth is ready to go. Grab that heavy and no more problems. Run out of rockets and simply switch back with two quick taps of a button. But what about your emotes you say? Have no fear. You could either have the remaining button be anything you want. A ghost. Your emotes. Your heavy synths. Whatever you want bc now we will get into button combos (something destiny lacks in it controls. As of now the only thing is a super for double buttons.) So if you have never played the vita before you use your emotes on the vita is you hold left on the dpad and hit x , o, square, triangle. Each based on where they are is the different emote. So holding left on the dpad you hit triangle in order to wave and so on and so forth. So you can still wave but this will just open up room for shortcuts. Just tapping left on the dpad could still be a shortcut as well like synths while holding it would be the start command for the emote. So basically I think Bungie needs to create shortcuts on the controller in order to make crucible and PVE more competitive. It would help in the raids and create new strategy in crucible. It would be nice to see the same happen with armor too. I play with the crouch as r3 and player highlight as O. A way you could incorporate fast swap on armor is you could hold the player select button and then hit up on the dpad to switch your helmet. Using the raid rocket? No problem. Hold player highlight and hit right on the dpad to unequip crest of alpha lupe and hold player highlight and hit up on the dpad to equip the taikonaut helmet. We now have tracking raid rocket and still have an exotic primary on. It thing like this that could make it more competitive while never having to go into your inventory and be vulnerable. Ok so I know it would have drawbacks. Obviously it wouldn't work for special or heavy swaps while you have ammo and are alive in the crucible. But it could add the ability to change weapons quickly in order to counter others. Like swapping from mida to last word when enemies get up close on you with shotguns. Anyway just a thought. Hoping everyone feels the same as I do tho bc this would be a cool addition and would be worthwhile to put in the game. Let me know what you guys think.

I've been talking about mappable D-pad buttons with my clan for a long time. We'd love to be able to set the behavior of our D-pad buttons.
