On each character how much are you to get each week? On top of that how much time does it take to get them on each character? And on top of that how many people are willing to play Crota and VoG to get those ascendent materials? Glimmer is barely used and is a lower currency than coins, look at how many coins it takes to get motes and motes are pretty much worthless. My point is bungie/activision will see those conversions and think we are out of our minds. Dont get hyped thats all im saying.

Now stop because compared to how rare it is to get shards and about how useless glimmer is those rates are trash. We are talking about currency that can be used to *get exotics and level up factions/gear fast*. P.s. shards are an expansion for how much glimmer you can hold. 7.5k glimmer expansion. P.p.s glimmer is super ridiculously easy to get so shards are not as useful.
