I love the idea of a the scout rifle/sidearm combo in crucible, and I also love the idea of using that on a hunter, being able to jump and shadestep around, spraying people with a sidearm... It just sounds so fun! However, I feel like I can no longer win 1v1's with my scout rifle. It doesn't matter whether I'm hitting consistent headshots or not, it seems like I'm dead by the time I get off two or 3 shots, and I'm using a VoC archetype of scout, so I need at least 4 shots to kill... What am I doing wrong?

4 commentairesTry to have your engagements be mid to longer range. Scouts shine when the targets are farther away. Sidearms are great too if someone happens to charge you, just back up and go pew pew pew and they done for lol. Its all about getting a good feel for what range is best for your scout. And maybe try to get a few ones that you like. Sometimes I do really well with a gun and other days i just can't use it for some reason. Also try to predict what you think the enemy might be doing to avoid or poke out to shoot you. Im not super great at pvp but i am not terrible. Hopefully this helps! If not well sorry for making you read all that xD

3 commentairesLearning to strafe can seriously increase the amount of 1v1s you win, its not something you can easily explain as strafing varies between people. But i can provide tips, so first off be unpredictable dont just do consistent long or short strafes, mix it up. Nextly, if you can, strafe on an incline, your opponents aim will likely suffer as they have to follow you horizontally and vertically. A good way to practice is to run MIDA with its agility boosts, max agility, and the radiant dance machines, your strafe speed skyrockets and will allow for easier, more sudden movements, and will help you become more accustomed to strafing. The last thing comes with practice, when observing your opponent try to guess their next major movement and move in such a way that will hinder their aim greatly, I am unable to explain what this looks like, but if you manage to do it you will understand what i am saying. Actually one last thing, be the person who is pushing forwards, its easier to strafe forwards and if your enemy strafes while backpeddling you get to safely melee them, but dont get too aggressive or you may fall into a well placed nade or shotty. Dont get frustrated if this doesnt come naturally, a lot of this is all quick thinking and automatic responses that will come with time, anyways good luck.

Stop using bad weapons you scrub.

You're not wrong. There is no balance. A pulse rifle will kill you before you get off the required shots you need. So not only do all 4 of your shots (3 for high impact) have to be criticals. But you can't get that many shots off before any pulse rifle melts your health bar away. So the only time you'll win the 1v1 with an inferior weapon is when your facing an inferior opponent.

Break line of sight try and bait them into a more favorable place for you. Stay a moving target, strafe, use your vertical space. I am guilty of not following this sort of advice and am not an omg amazing pvper. When I do though I notice I consistently do better, I am still working on breaking bad habits I formed over the years. Practice and time will help and recognizing your own personal bad habits that need changed, like going on tilt either through anger or overconfidence after a streak. I would recommend watching TrueVanguard on YouTube. His sniper school videos as well as overall crucible tips videos have helped me understand what I need to work on to get better. I started as like a consistent .7 player now I usually get around 1.3 and have had great games with a 7-8 KD my best was a 14-0 game. I still have bad games and I mean baaaad games but I am still noticably better than I used to be and win a decent amount of 1v1 gunfights. Good luck on figuring it out

1 commentaireRange. At close range it's harder to hit head shots with scout rifles, and every other weapon, especially hand cannons and auto riffles, gets much better and will rather easily out dps you. If the range is short, switch to your sidearm.

1 commentaireUntil Mida is back I've been using Red Death since its pretty much the best. But when it is the king will reign again.

1 commentaireDistance don't get close with a scout tlw shotguns and a bunch of other guns have a quicker ttk.
