Destiny is not...
....an MMO. Someone please elaborate on why this is even a comparison. It's got the feel of an MMO, but by no means is this a true MMO..
Edit:Shared World Shooter....wtf is that? You can't just make up a genre and claim your this super cool thing come on guys. They got called out after claiming to be an MMO and tried to comeback with that weakas response.
Edit: There is nothing massive about destiny. Just cause you move to a different zone(server) and there is a "possibility" other players might be around (which let me remind you can only be up to five) doesn't mean the game is massive. It means five ppl can join and drop the server you ran into. The most players destiny can hold on a server(which is The Tower) is like 18 I believe...I mean come on guys need I defend my point more?
Edit: Starting to get some "it's just a game" replies. I just wana say I made this post cause I wanted to debate and talk about the subject so if your coming with that crap, you need to come a bit more correct guardians.
Edit but like: I don't usually debate; but when I do, I have a fist full of mead.

Does a god-like being descend from a far away galaxy and provide us a list of genre titles and which games should be placed accordingly? The game is not an MMORPG in the strictest of senses. It's a hybrid title. A game that is trying to mesh multiple genres and create a new one. I.E. the term "shared world shooter".

3 commentairesHow many players does a ps4 support at once? 4-8? You can have a hub with 16 players. You may never see the other 15 players again... Because it surpasses the single console limited and the pool of players is massive. I'd say it fits the role of a massive multiplayer. Fps is self explanatory Role playing game...light zombie from the future fighting aliens. Check I'd say it fits an mmorpg.

It tries to play with the big boys by using the same ole tactics to keep people hooked but unfortunately falls flat when it comes to more than 6 people in a fireteam (only for certain activities) and 16 people in any one area (which rarely happens outside of the tower). Maybe things will change when Destiny is only on current gen.

1 commentaireAgreed. I wanna see 100 on patrol in the same area and more enemies so everyone can go ape-shit crazy killing them. If Defiance can accomplish this than Destiny can too. Maybe they are just lazy or too focused on raids rather than gameplay for everyone.

I could easily see an increase in the numbers your mentioning when they develop their current gen only Destiny.

I consider it to be an RPG with a few MMO quality's, but its still just that, an RPG (IMO). As for your last edit I don't understand why people don't like the idea of a debate. Its not like a persons words are going to hurt you if they dn't agree. I mean that's exactly the point of a debate.
