Meanwhile at Bungie’s labs…
CEO: “What do you mean the Taken King didn’t meet first quarter sales goals?”
Dev1: “I don’t know what to say but it fell a bit short”
CEO: “Did you put in all that psychobabble stuff Dr. Verruct told you to?”
Dev1: “We did, but it didn’t seem to have any effect”
CEO: “What!!”

Dev1: “Yeah, we sort of messed it up…And by “We” I mean Stosh”
CEO: “I want an explanation…”
Dev1: “The Dev team put the subliminal message “If you don’t like the Taken King, then why are you here?” into the game like Dr. Verruckt instructed.”
CEO: “Then why aren’t the repeat sales goals closer to 90-100%?”
Dev1: “We sort of took away 90% games content to non The Taken King players…So they don’t really have a reason to log on, and the player base has dropped off dramatically”
CEO: “So you’re saying that the subliminal messages we put into the game to help sell it. Are only being seen by the people who have already bought the game?”
Dev1: “Afraid so.”
CEO: “After all the consulting fees and time spent on this. We are getting zero results? I need to fire SOMEONE!
Dev1: “Well there is one consolation…”

CEO: “Which is?”

Dev1: “The subliminal messages do seem to be having a large and unforeseen impact on the players who have played the Taken King”

CEO: “Really?”

Dev1: “Yes, we’ve seen the basic message “If you don’t like The Taken King, then why are you here” repeated hundreds of times throughout the forums, and social media. So we know it is having an effect on people. In fact, the few die hard critics who have played TTK are hypnotized enough, to completely forget why they were upset with us in the first place.”
CEO: “That’s amazing! Say, I got to ask you something. What’s with those weird 80’s sunglasses you’re wearing, I haven’t seen you take them off in days?”
Dev1: “Oh no reason…It’s not like I’ve become paranoid, and keep seeing aliens trying to sell me products on the basis of lies or something.”
CEO: “Ha! You say the strangest things sometimes.”

1 commentaireModifié par MightyJonE : 9/27/2015 2:50:54 AMYes, it's funny how bungie don't broadcast how many actually play destiny. They've published figures about 10 months ago, and then again a few months after, but they were kind of vague-ish in their presentation, if I remember correct - unlike the latest free 2 week trial for FF Online, which says something like "join 5 million other players online" What IS known, is that bungie recently admitted in UK's Edge Magazine that last year they lost many players once they'd completed the story missions at level 20
-
Because they never have duh
-
Waiting for Baghdad Bob, aka Cosmo, to give the pep talk rally on this. "There are no players leaving Destiny" as a player count meter behind him drops lower.
-
-
Because they suck. Only stat I have ever heard them boast about what's the day one how many layers bulls*. Since then they have been in damage control.
-
It's hilarious they can tell you the exact number of "guardians" not actual players have attempted the new raid, can tell you that it was the largest downloaded PlayStation launch day item (although it was an auto download even if you didn't upgrade) and yet haven't released player or actual sales figures, because the numbers are shit and they know it
-
1 commentaireNotice they always post in game stats by "guardian", not by account. Easy to inflate numbers that way.
-
Funny post! Nice work. Bungie sucks!
-
1 commentaireThey will tell you how many activated accounts there are but not how many people are actively playing, they did this with the dark below and House of wolves
-
Yep...we have all been had.....those illuminati bastards. Starts raiding for hours...

1 commentaireModifié par BUDDY-VA : 9/25/2015 2:08:55 PMThey got me. I'm brainwashed. Get TTK you won't regret it! Why are you here!?!? WHY WHY WHY!!!!!!??!?

1 commentaireIts been barely a week. Ask that question in a month, at least. Post was funny though

1 commentaireumm Bungie are not allowed to talk about sales without Activation's permission. Activision (ATVI) must follow SEC rules, which means they cant just announce this type of thing to a subset of the investing community. So that means a press release.. ATVI is not getting good numbers with some of its top titles, they have been in decline the last few years so they stopped releasing numbers.... as such releasing destiny's numbers would be out of step with the policies in place ref other titles... that is why we don't get numbers.... oh yeah and they do not meet the expectations or hopes of both bungie and acti... so they don't want to either.

1 commentaireWhat?! They Live! Where's Rowdy Toddy Piper when you need him? Oh, off playing WWE 15? Understandable... Good one as always, cbstar!

Spot on :)

These are great haha. Love the humour.

Modifié par DeusFever : 9/25/2015 9:47:29 PMWho publishes negative news? DLC never sells as well as retail games. The only way to buy the DLC at retail is the $60 Legendary Edition. Lots of players have quit forever.

1 commentaireWhy doesn't obaama release his brith certificate?!
-
They aren't releasing them because they were awful. One report at Forbes.com said $500 million shipped with $175 million still on the shelves as of about 5 days ago
-
1 commentaireThey're just making too much money and are sitting somewhere laughing at us.

Much as peoples' sanity and taste confound me and Bungie asshattery offends me you can't deny that TTKs sales would have been huge by most normal standards. Sure they would have gotten drop off but 75% of a gigantic number is still a very big number. The sorry fact that Bungie has proven shitting on people can earn you just as much money as bring awesome to people is just a fact of life we have to accept.

I hope ppl realize every mmo isn't true about their sales they don't actually tell u the truth if anything they will say "this many did this" but really it might only be a quarter of that. reason is : when people believe the game dev's they think its true I mean why not why would they lie well this is why. they tell u fake #'s making u think this part of game is good now think about it if they were that correct ppl wouldn't be hateing so much on them and they wouldn't getting as much hate mail and feedback forums wouldn't be irritated I mean all the things u want to know are in front of you yes I have the dlc but I don't think its amazing to that extent and I highly doubt they even have 500k players every doing the raid remember when we had that 600k players with crota the game lagged crazy had major issues the reason why the severs are even beter is because theirs no players left the ones that are here will always be here they don't tell u the truth on sales they never will. the truth is they didn't sell much at all they want more people to buy it and obviously the players aren't because the severs got massively more stable because the players dropped the game and moved on.
