I'm not one to whine about other classes or other sub-classes, things are different and that's the way it is. But I do think Void Walker Nova Bomb needs to be look at by the devs.
For comparison this is what I've seen:
Nova Bomb (single bomb): 4.5k damage
Nova Bomb (split): 2k damage per bomb
Stormtrance: 1k damage per second (might be per half a second)
Sunbreaker Hammers: 3k per hammer (somewhere in the region of 4-6 hammers)
So over the course of a full supercharge:
Single Target :
Nova Bomb: 2 - 6k damage depending on build
Stormtrance: 10 - 20k damage depending on build
Sunbreaker: 12 - 18k damage.
I'm not complaining about Stormtrance of Sunbreaker, I think they are awesome. I just feel like Voidwalker needs to be relooked at. It feels like it either hasn't scaled as well or they've increased the damage of Supers with the new subclasses and forgot to tweak Nova Bombs damage.
Stormtrance does a lot more damage, but it's very dangerous being in close proximity (especially against raid bosses) which is why I like to run Voidwalker in a lot of scenarios, but with the current damage output of Nova Bomb it really is not worth it. I think the damage of Nova Bomb should be brought more in line with the total damage output of Hammers as they are both ranged nukes. But that's just what I think.
Ending on a positive, the changes in TTK are excellent and I'm glad how it's all turned out.

The big blast specs are still good in crucible, and one of the ways to shut down the new ones others, I practically have to use celestial nighthawk to kill a solar slinging titan with GG though. (really it is either that or two shots) Golden Gun and Voidbombs are the worst in pve. The striker at least retained some lethality. Titans solar spec grants the armor and self healing of a blade dancer and 6-8 mini nova bombs, and the overshield of a titan or warlock. When every other classes only option is to run away there needs to be some rebalancing.

(Even through walls) And [b]B[/b]: Ward of Dawn has needed a buff, like forever. I could see the perks on it being improved some though. Like, letting its super cancer linger for longer periods of time (a star DID just explode there, after all), or allowing the multiball-split-one to be fired in a simultaneous volley -like now- or individually for picking off smaller groups of weaker targets.

If we're talking PvE, then yeah the Nova Bomb could use a small bump in damage. It's not nearly as pathetic as the Gunslinger's Golden Gun though. It's like I tickle bosses with each shot. I'm not saying GG should one shot an Ultra, but it should at least make a dent in their health.

1 commentaireMaybe it could do with a tiny improvement but that 6k that you are getting is single target ranged. That is nothing to laugh at, but it could be upwards of 10k and still be reasonable. I find against yellows it is still very effective. Stormtrance is your CC. That can do nearly limitless damage but against bosses and minibosses it is garbage. Sunbreaker is there for support. I think this is about right as far as damage goes.

As someone who used to main voidwalker when I wasn't being forced to use sunsinger, I one hundred percent agree my fellow Martyn, now we can only hope and push for the change!!

I'm sticking with my Warlock as long as I can and want to complete all of the quests available in the game, but I'm HEAVILY considering moving to a Titan next when their damage output can pretty much shit on ours now. That being said, yes, I'm loving TTK. Feels like they added lots of dungeon crawler elements in the loot system now and the grind is actually enjoyable to me.

I totally agree. This expansion it seems a lot of enemies survive my nova bomb even with the extended burn. I've also noticed in PvP that there are times when people are clearly within the reach of the explosion yet do not die, like there is some invisible wall protecting them. Its not lag, its just like its not hitting them for some reason. This ult is also less forgiving. You gotta use it at the right time and aim it right or its wasted whereas this other supers can run around and chase people down and can afford to miss here and there.

I did notice a glitch with nova bomb since TTK , not sure if anyone else has. Sometimes when I fire the nova it hits the enemy, but oh wait? No explosion. Like wtf?

I always believed Voidwalkers were a little underpowered in PvE but this DLC definitely capitalizes on that. Makes me wonder about the Striker as well. Doesn't its super do around 4.5?

I've been saying this for a while. It needs only a couple of changes and a little damage buff. My suggestions are when Angry Magic is selected Lance will detonated based on proximity of target making it more useful for long ranges. Then I think the blast radius of all Nova bombs should be increased a small amount and the damage out put should be increased as well.

I totally agree.. Nova bomb can't even completely kill enemies with yellow health bar, even if you drop it on their face :(

And then if it hits them with a shield up, then they aren't going down. I have to shoot somebody a few times, throw the grenade, and hope that they f*cking stand there long enough for it to take them out. Vortex: People just casually walk away. No dramas Scatter: ... Yeah. It's f*cking pathetic. 'Pew pew pew pew pew!... Er.. Oh. They're still alive.' And since Voidwalker is my favourite subclass, it's pretty annoying when it's not worth much -.- and I agree, Nova Bomb either needs a far bigger AoE, or a boost in damage. It just doesn't compare to Sunbreaker or Stormcaller
