You do realize that it's a real thing, right? It's been in early development, and it's possible. The current limitation is energy needed to power such a device.

You're serious? Just because it doesn't exist now doesn't mean it's impossible. 100 years ago if you told someone we would have access to near limitless information in the palm of your hand they would've said it was impossible... Science and technology never defines in absolutes what's possible or impossible. Only what we've discovered and have yet to discover. If more people thought like you, we would never advance scientifically, technologically or as a species. In this regard I'm glad there are those that see the real truth, forward thinkers that help progress humanity into the future.

You're technically wrong. Nothing can travel [i]through[/i] space faster than light. The concept of warp drives is to warp space so that the space you are in expands or contracts faster than the speed of light which breaks no known principals of relativity.

I didn't feel the need to say photons in a vacuum. I know exactly how warp drives are conceptually intended, but the reality of warp drives is that they are fictional. The theory of relativity prohibits any known way of creating a warp drive. There is no breaking this theory, you cannot just merely break physics. MAYBE when the next Albert Einstein comes along we are able to understand much more about Spacetime to perhaps create such a device and maybe exploit wormholes while still abiding by the law of physics. But I wouldn't hold my breath.

Congratulations you're an Engineer, what does that mean for this discussion? Absolutely nothing, fact remains that your thinking is flawed. In your reply you quoted theory and stated impossibility because of "known" reasons. Best part about theory is; at its core, Theory, is just our best guess at the time, based off currently available information. As far as "known", what we "know" is constantly changing, everyday new discoveries are being made. What we know today may be irrelevant tomorrow. For example: at one point, humans knew for a fact that the earth was flat. One forward thinking individual set sail one day and proved them wrong. Another popular belief: the Earth was the center of the our solar system and everything revolved around us. Again a forward thinking individual proved them wrong. Skeptics, like yourself, used theories, physics and "known reasons" to claim manned flight was impossible. Using those same physics, theories and known technology, two brothers proved them wrong. Before the Bell X-1 flight there were those that would swear traveling at the speed of sound was impossible. The human body would never hold up to the force of breaking the sound barrier. Chuck Yeager proved them wrong. Einstein, Newton, Tesla, all the great minds throughout human history set down Theories and laws as building blocks for future generations. They weren't meant to be used as a blockade to limit progression, rather they meant for us to expand on what they started. Finding ways to prove their theories or disprove them, circumvent their laws with more in depth understanding of how things work. If you can't see this simple truth then I'm sorry, your mind is forever trapped inside the box...

Nothing about any of the proposed theoretical warp drives breaks any laws of relativity. I don't think you fully understand what you're talking about.
