Sorry but taking existing assets, tweaking how their menus look and how those assets are presented and then putting them behind a 40 -blam!-ing dollar paywall is not an "expansion."
Its not even DLC. Its content ive had downloaded since day one but UPDATED.
Oh boy another 5 hour campaign if that? A -blam!-ing spaceship to run around on and open boxes for mats? a raid only 10% of the playerbase will do because you still rely on third party websites to do the matchmaking for us? NOT EVEN LETTING YOUR VETERAN PLAYERS GET THEIR VETERAN REWARDS WITHOUT BUYING TTK? not letting you play any beneficial strikes? Letting you only do team death match or free for all in the crucible suddenly? You locked all other strike and crucible playlists behind the paywall, along with peoples guns. Like what the flying -blam!-. AND 40 DOLLARS FOR THIS?! You literally do not care about us as players or even individual human beings.
Please if youre a kid and you like destiny, and your parents buy games for you, nows the time to realize what a bad investment is. TTK is an absolute sham and rip off. If youre an adult and work for a living or are the one that pays for your kids to get stuff like this, say no.
theres so many excellent games coming out soon and theyll all be 60 dollars. Dont waste 40 of that potential 60 on this shit downloadable money scam.
You see your community as a bunch of wallets running around and you need to figure out how to squeeze the -blam!-ing life blood out of every one of them. People will see your true colors now bungie and honesty, i couldnt give a shit less. Your brand and company are garbage now, you let 343 burn halo to the ground, so when people are done with your shit from this, youll have nothing left.
As of 5 AM, EST September 17, 2015:
according to playstation trophies, the largest platform for destiny, only 5% of playses have done the taken king story and only 3% have accessed subclasses. What do you have to say now about a surge of returning and new players that love it?

Between 2 Am and 6 Am EST, bungie removed TTK feedback official post because of its overwhelming negative response.
Edit: it is now back up again as of 6:20 pm est
In regards to those citing the download numbers for TTK
The ps4 hasnt had anything big yet. Using that as an example just shows theres never been anything worth downloading in mass before. And the paywall to keep playing destiny is what forced people to buy that.
If you knew anything about the trends of mmo expansions id be surprised. ive honestly written this so many times to people that just dont get it because they dont play other mmos.
Numbers always surge when an expansion comes out and when theres no substance to keep it going after a week or two, the player base drops off to a new low, lower than it was pre expansion.
Plus theres numerous reports of ign, polygon, metacritic and other websites being paid off for their reviews so them only posting that and none of the obvious negatives show they arent a good source.
It is true TTK is the most downloaded thing but i urge you to name one other thing that was even made available for digital download that is even competition. When the most downloaded thing was a couple thousand, its not hard to beat when you force a paywall onto MILLIONS of players and use artificial hype.

16 commentairesAll of the brainwashed people keep saying bad reviews come from people who don't play the game. Well let my stats speak for me. I put in my time. Only break I took was for Bloodborne. I bought TTK because I decided to give Bungie one more chance to right their wrongs. That said... Bungie absolutely does not care about their fans. This expansion is a sorry excuse for the word expansion. I rerolled maps I've been playing since release. The Suros pack is laughable. I truly cannot believe how much content has been paywalled for non DLC owners. Stop supporting this company. Seriously... mindless fanboys will continue to support but that doesn't mean you should. Just let it go. We all stuck around hoping the game would live up to it's potential but it's clear now that bleeding people for their money is more important than making a great game. Anyone who bought any of the DLC's have nothing to be ashamed of. You supported a game you believed would fulfill it's potential. Now it is time to walk away and never look back. It's hard and I know. I foolishly bought TTK. It is over now. Go home. There is nothing to see here. I am 28 years old. I've been gaming since NES. I have a decent paying job and I know all about being a consumer. Spend your money as you see fit but I promise you this is not a goos use of your money.

1 commentaireYou have played the shit out of TTK so far. PS4 hasnt had anything big yet? Are you kidding me? Metal gear 5, GTA 5, The last of us remastered, The witcher 3, ESO. pull this post down because its making you look stupid.

56 commentairesFor those of you who have called it quits.... Why are you still in the forums? Those of us still playing will not miss you, we will remove you and replace you with someone who is. We really don't care about your 5 minute ramps that mean nothing. Quit the game and leave our forums, Bungie doesn't care and neither do we.

Player base has increased significantly.
-
Funny. My friends list is full of people playing. All the time.
-
1 commentaireWait, so you are representing most of the player base? You have a 31 warlock, 13 hunter and level 2 titan. You beat the base game once, you haven't beaten any raids on hard, haven't beaten skolas, haven't found all golden chests. I was expecting to see all 34's atleast, hoping you were a day one player but after I saw that I just stopped reading. Just sayin...

6 commentairesFor new players all this content is well worth the $60. For veterans it will ramp the total cost of the game up well over $120; i have yet to find a COMPLETE video game i would pay that much for. Year 2 belongs to the new kinder-guardians, and i've enough poor experiences dragging noobs through shit in year 1. We're better off being several months to a year behind the content, that way we can buy it all at reasonable prices.
-
Just because a few of you children can't get your parents to buy it for you, doesn't mean they lost most of their player base. I guarantee they are getting a lot more new/returning players then they are losing them. Destiny is a subscription based game, they just don't say it out loud. Instead of paying monthly, you pay every three months.
-
As far as the download numbers goes this is just a deceptive marketing ploy. If you have the game at all on the ps4 whether you play it or not it will automatically download the update for you. They are just using these numbers because they can be twisted to look good because their sales must not look so good.
-
It was an automatic download. Those numbers don't represent actual purchases of Taken King.

1 year, $120, & 551 in-game hours of my life I can't get back. Thanks Bungie, for competly wasting all of that since I won't buy TTK. This is total BS that you make a game virtually unplayable just because I don't want to drop another $40 on your game. You threw all of us away that have been playing since day 1. I guess I was mistaken when I thought I BOUGHT the game, since Bungie is obviously just renting it. I'm done with Destiny. I'm done with Bungie. I know there are thousands like me who aren't going to bend over for Bungie's greed. I'm not even going to get started on why should I pay anything for new content when the original and first 2 dlc's are still buggy as hell. I'm absolutely fed up & disgusted with Bungie.
-
2 commentairesThat's funny, the 7,000,000 downloads of TTK alone say otherwise. For every one of people like you there's 100,000 people that have already moved forward with Bungie.

Growing pains hurt, and this is definitely new for consoles. Having come from over ten years of WoW, it's what I've come to expect. I currently own 4/5 expacs. I can play the previous iterations, but they have been intrinsically changed. Places that were there are gone or inconsequential, gear is outdated and outmoded, raids have been reskinned and moved to higher difficulties and are therefore inaccessible. You can't play certain classes unless you pony up. But... I still play. Not because I'm brainwashed as was posted previously, I just like escaping into a game for awhile and talking to my friends. I'll farm (grind) low levels for a bit and log, waiting for the day I can join them in the big boy places. And there is another expac coming so while I might get the one I currently need for less than $50 that it's priced at, I'll still need to shell out another $60 if I want to keep up. In addition to $15/mo. Prices haven't changed for the expacs in 10 years. The last one was announced concurrently with a huge drop in subs (from 10 million to around 7 million) with no price change and even more micro transactions. It's not a fun business model for a poorer consumer, but it has PC precedence. I'm afraid it isn't going to change, but I'm sure we'll be getting more micro transactions and paid DLC because Destiny is marketed by Activision as is WoW. They are striving to make it last as long as their crown jewel, and get it up there with a game people routinely kill themselves over. I guess I'm just confused as to the outrage because I've seen it all before. Five times. I've been the victim of "can't afford it right now so I can't play." I've struggled to come up with the sub fee and sat out for months. It may feel unfair to me, because I'm living in a world that teaches me that I must have everything everyone else has IMMEDIATELY. But, I'm also a logical human, and I recognize that this is a brilliant marketing scheme, because It's proven to rake in the cash, and it has maintained my interest in a cartoon game filled with hotheaded little children mashing kbm and calling themselves gods. Tl;dr rage against the dying of the light....but the light died long ago.

Its a game kid.

20 commentairesThe Point is that every single person who buys the original Destiny is boned right out of the gate. To make this game viable you have to upgrade and upgrade some more which is WRONG. That's alienating the Core Fanbase at least the ones that feel they shouldn't have to buy every expansion to have fun. TTK screws over people who just Bought TDB or HOW or both without the intention of pouring more money in the game. You should be ABLE to SKIP an Expansion and not be locked out of pretty much everything. THAT'S THE GREEDIEST THING IN GAMING.
-
Yep, 1,000 out of 50 million is most of the player base.
-
If you want to bring more attention to this, please considering liking my thread in the general forums: https://www.bungie.net/en/Forum/Post/154566057/0/0

We should move back... WE'VE WOKEN THE FANBOYS
-
"Destiny....become mediocre!" "Destiny, because 50 mil a year just isn't enough!"
-
"PS4 hasn't had anything big yet," OP's very little validity is lost with that statement.
-
4 commentaires20 million ppl active on destiny yes the player base is gone
-
Reduce price to 20$
-
They lost most of their lol base! [
all your base are belong to us
