Halo 5 is "next gen"
Yet it can't handle split screen which last gen games could....

Doesn't matter anyway, all the casuals will run off to BattleFront or whatever other shooter has splitscreen and keep on enjoying themselves. H5 is gonne die fast.

I honestly haven't split screen a game since Halo:CE. I didn't know people use it anymore so I've been surprised to hear its removal as a feature is a big deal.

1 commentaireSeems to me they were focusing more on creating a new experience. The 360 was much more powerful for its time than the xbox one. The 360 Halo games have always run at 30fps, people are expecting much better graphics and framerates than years ago. I think there would be much more upset fans if this current gen Halo ran at 30fps. I'd rather play with a much smoother experience than have awful framerates and lag everywhere. (Much like the split screen on gears of war ultimate edition, it's god awful. I'm glad Halo didn't do that)

Next gen would be the one after Xbox One and PS4 etc. 343 never said the Xbox One was incapable of handing split-screen, they said they cut it due to time constraints and using dedicated servers rather than peer to peer. Halo 4 did push the 360 to it's limits and it did have 4 player split screen, a game near the end of a consoles shelf life will always look better than those made early on in it's shelf life as has always been the case. But I agree it looked fantastic for the 360. I personally think 343 may re-introduce split screen especially for local or private games in future titles as that's what Halo fans are used too and want. I can understand why it was cut from competitive MP (not saying I agree with it just I understand it).

12 commentairesYou can't be that ignorant can you? They have the data, they know how many people ACTUALLY USE splitscreen. That number is probably extremely low. It is a dated feature and frankly isn't relevant anymore.

2 commentaires...and the game lagged extensively when you wanted to use split screen. I should know, I used it a few times. Also, none of the 360 games had maps on the same scale.
