[*]Lastly we come to this image. What you're looking at is the microsoft management console, and what I'm attempting to do is to load user groups into the window to then edit my account and grant myself basically god mode permissions (So when you do things like try and delete a folder in "Program files" the computer doesn't argue). It's not very complicated but in my opinion is enough of a step I'm not going to do it by accident. M$; give me -blam!-ing control of my own -blam!-ing PC will you?
I'm pretty good with computers, and I still don't know what the -blam!- you're trying to accomplish here. I really like Win10 so far. A more usable start menu. Flatter themes. Multiple desktops. Upgrade process was painless. And it's free. I'm in.

When you set your account on your PC to "administrator" what you're actually doing is adding your account to user group "administrators" other group examples are things like "SYSTEM" "local users" "limited users" etc etc. What that tool lets you do is add accounts to groups. One of the groups that has the highest authority level is "SYSTEM" so if I add myself to that group I can do a whole bunch of stuff that microsoft have put restrictions on standard administrators to protect the less tech able. Easiest way to see what groups already exist on your PC is right click one of the hard drives and go to security.

  • (no offense) you know what a work group is? or what User permissions are? basically MS has by default stolen root/admin privileges from him so he can't have unlimited system rights on one account(somewhat like many GNU-linux distros, except in windows). and it's free for a reason. they're taking literally everything you do including key strokes, uploading it to their servers, and turning your data into something they can sell. the "cortana" telemetry cannot be turned off...even when all services that use it are turned off on a non-microsoft account /local machine account. you've become the product. sounds weird but it's just the facts. they've even backported this telemetry into the older operating systems of 7 and 8/8.1 via a "critical" systems update. don't believe it? people with packet sniffers have proven it. you can do all the privacy steps in all the guides on 10 but it never truly turns off the tracking and reporting.
