Should Year One Raids be updated for higher-level content?

Yes.

Let's face it. When The Taken King drops, there will be no reason to play Year One Raids. Legendaries from the Raids will become obsolete, and everyone will be busy playing The Taken King to earn new Exotics in favor of older Exotics. But does that mean the content should die away? A majority of the playerbase will probably own The Taken King, so the few who are left without it might not have many others to do the current Raids with. Also, people would love to replay old content for the nostalgia and for new rewards. It'd have to be done right though. The new rewards would have to be exclusive to the new difficulty, and they shouldn't really outclass any King's Fall gear as to not take away from that Raid. And they simply can't just buff the enemies to higher levels like they basically did with Crota's End, Hard Mode. New mechanics would have to be introduced, and cheeses would have to be patched. I'm on the fence about this one. On the one hand, I'd hate to see the best parts of Destiny fade away, especially Vault of Glass. But on the other hand, players want newer content to satisfy their endgame needs. What do you think? Should Vault of Glass and Crota's End get a "Very Hard" mode?
