I have a question for atheists and a question for theists.
Atheists: Since scientific proof for a god existing is impossible, making that your prerequisite for believing in a god is the same as saying that you'd never, ever believe. Since it's also possible that a god exists, how would you find his existence if he does?

Theists: Why does god let sin exist instead of squashing it completely? If your answer is free will, are we all robots in heaven because sin doesn't exist there or does the concept of heaven show that sin isn't a prerequisite for free will?

As far as your question for proof goes.... Proof won't help a lot of atheists believe in God. For a few reasons. God is never going to give 100% indisputable proof that he exists, that takes away the element of faith and most likely free will.
if you knew with certainty that something as amazing as heaven existed you would never make the decision not to go there.
And I'm just curious, if you lived when Jesus was on earth, performing hundreds of miracles and you were able to see them for yourself, would you believe?

Modifié par FakeQuasiMixture : 8/17/2015 4:42:02 PMFaith itself is a stupid concept and we would still have free will if God decided that we would. As for your question about Jesus, I would probably follow him. That would be proof that he's divine if he does miracles.
cant stand this guy
-
I'm sorry that we have contrasting opinions.
What in particular did I say that irked you so much?
-
You know what say every sin you have done
-
The definition of a sin is subjective. What would that accomplish, though?
-
Just say then
-
Lol I don't remember all of my faults.
Are you trying to guilt-trip me?
-
No not at all just the reason you think their should be no sin makes no sense
-
I would personally enjoy it if sin and suffering didn't exist. It doesn't need to exist, also, so why does God let it?
-
-
That's like asking someone why they don't want someone to drill holes in their legs.
-
To me it seems that you kinda Believe in God but you don't at the same time. I think you want to go to heaven but you still want to sin but you know that when you sin it makes not as close to God
-
Hello again you probably don't remember me but hey and to answer your question I answer it with a story Say you have a kid and they do something bad what is the appropriate thing to do to let them know that what they did wasn't okay
a consequence
That's what God did to us to show Adam and Eve that what they did wasn't okay Now some people are like " WHAT THE HECK " some of say that it wasn't our fault but look at their perspective they were the first people ( bible says ) and they were perfect ( bible says ) so say you were the first and even perfect and sinless you would mess up too And than years later God gave his only son Jesus to take away the sin of the world and that made it so we had a chance going into heaven ( by chance I mean we don't have to be perfect we just have to try and being a Christian helps) That's what I believe
-
That's all bollocks, though. The parents would use a consequence that isn't as harsh as eternal suffering and actually show an effort to tell them what they did wrong. God just sits up in heaven saying "Ooh! Johnny messed up! He's going to hhhheeeeelllllll!" when he's capable of snapping his fingers and making sin disappear.
-
Them there is no choice
-
Only if God decides that there is no choice. God is definitely powerful enough to make free will exist with sin not existing.
-
Okay he is but God knows better than you
not to hurt your feelings but it is true
-
And there's your copout answer, ladies and gentlemen. Two assumptions: God exists and God knows best. Let's hear some proof.
-
There is no proof needed to be said do you really think your the first one to have that thought
answer is no
God had the same thought probably and decided that it wasn't a good idea
-
I literally have no idea what you said. Can you please rephrase that?
-
You are not the only one who had the question why does God leave us with sin
-
And you are not the only one who hasn't answered it properly.
-
So I try to answer your question and I get an insult thx
-
Have looked at all of these lol
