It's because most of a fanbase of any game that considers themselves "diehard fans" are elitists and if you're someone who considers their life's work "just a game", they'll get really worked over about it. Oh and since Destiny has a T rating, there'll be a ton more of little kids who try to be like those elitists probably because they think it's cool

The new term is elitist asshole to describe them, not as an individual, but as a group, one big humongous asshole!

Haha I wish, but generalization is really dangerous to deal with since people want their own classification exclusively for them, not just to be in one huge group
