LOL for less than $20 I can go buy Sims and have more options for garment colors and emotes. I am not here to play digital man dolls.

$20 to add the emotes and shaders is insane, I'll just get standard, $20 is not worth a couple exclusives

How are you not? They literally gave people what they asked for, an opportunity to buy the collector edition exclusive swag without rebuying content. Sure, it's $20, but honestly, this is more than I expected from Activision and I'm fairly pleased.

Playing through both the DLC campaigns should not earn you VIP status. Getting to 34 is a much harder challenge and those who did it should be recognized for it and rewarded.

Destiny is a quasi-MMO game. In the sense of customization it is very similar. The thing is in those real MMOs you fork out $20 for much less cosmetic content. For $15.99 you can jig in a circle and shoot out glitter and rainbows. For $9.99 your avatar will radiate light. For $8 you mine resource nodes by headbanging them. For an extra $5 a month in your subscription fee you can use flashy multicolored text in public chat. The point is these things exist because people will buy them. And their pricing is such because people will pay it. I was once told the idea being these premium emotes were exclusive by value. Charge a little and everybody gets it, devs still get their money but nobody feels special. charge a lot much less people get it, devs still make their money, and those that paid do feel special, and will pay again. It's not greed it's good marketing and is a reality in the MMO world. Why wouldn't Bungie capitalize on the MMO customization aspect of Destiny?

My take on the CE issue is this - people were rightly pissed that desirable items that many if not most 'day 1' players would want were: A - locked behind a $80 paywall that included content they [b]already own[/b] with no alternate way to obtain these items B - clearly packaged and targeted to new players while our 'veteran rewards' paled in comparison of desirability causing a [i]likely unintented[/i] slight Bungie's response has done the following: A - provided a way for veteran players to [u]choose[/u] to spend some more money (but less than the $80 amount) to obtain the desirable items B - promised to add "more" to show us they "do care" and "are listening" (instead of silence.. worth noting IMO) As such, I fail to see what all of the current [u]crying[/u] is about. You think $20 is too high a price tag for premium additional content? - don't buy it.. at least you now have the option to get it without rebuying content. You think that half the cost of the new expansion calls into question the value of said expansion? - get some perspective. The expansion price is based on quality/quantity of content in comparison to previous expansions and very likely involved many focus groups. The price of the CE digital items is based on entirely different criteria as it is premium content not required to continue playing. As to the issue of overseas pricing.. A: It is a separate issue and as such should be [b]rationally[/b] considered separately from the CE digital content issue. B: Activision handles pricing, not Bungie so please direct your empathetic anger (for most members of this forum, that is) to the responsible party.

Pretty sure I'm done regardless. Never spent this much on a game. $80 for 360 version and the first expansion. Then I upgraded to the Xbone and had to re-purchase the game and first DLC (really Bungie?! Your character transfers but not the game itself, wtf). Then I purchased the HoW expansion. That's $175 FOR ONE GAME. Absolutely ridiculous. I own all the Halos and Destiny but I won't be buying another Bungie game in the future. I'll enjoy the next couple months with Destiny before TTK, but then good riddance.

The only thing that would make this whole debacle is what they should've done from the start - "For those of you who bought the base game and both expansions, TTK will be available for 15 dollars." I don't want the option to spend MORE money on useless crap top of a humongously overpriced sure-to-disappoint expansion. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice....

By comparison, the latest item pack (*cough cough* micro-trans) for Dragon Age was $4.99, which included: 2 pieces of armor (equiv. to legendary chest armor here) 6 armor/weapon schematics (like an engram you can use over and over again if you have the mats to build them, and not RNG-dependent) 5 new mounts (Sparrow equiv.) 4 decoration items for your castle (we don't even have a closet at the Tower yet) I still haven't purchased it yet, because I thought it was pricey for what was offered. AND EA has a tendency to put out about 3 micro-trans, then bundle them for cheaper later on. Overall: (+) They have seen there's a problem with the price points / value offered in the different options, esp. for Y1 players. (+) Luke realized sarcasm / humor often doesn't translate into written words. BBT quote, "Do I need to hold up a 'sarcasm' sign?" "Do you have a sarcasm sign?" (-) Knee-jerked and tried to split the difference between Legendary and Digital Collector's Editions without any thought or market research. (-) Waiting to to hear why the Physical and Digital Collector's Ed's are the same price, or if it's changing. I'm in wait-and-see mode, but it's highly unlikely I'd put out $20 for what's offered. I barely want to cough up $40 for TTK alone. At some point, they should put out a side-by-side comparison of TTK v. Vanilla Destiny (that's V.D., lol), such as: VD. = 2 Subclasses, TTK = 1 new Sub (50% of Vanilla) VD. = 19 Story Missions, TTK = ?? SMs (13 new SMs would be about 67% of Vanilla) VD. = 5 Strikes (Xbox), TTK = ?? Strikes (and NO, including reskinned PS exclusives + originals DOES NOT count as NEW strikes for Xbox) VD. = ? Exotic Weapons/Armor, TTK = ?? Exo W/A's VD. = 1 Raid, TTK = 1 Raid (100% of Vanilla) etc. If TTK doesn't add up to 2/3 or more of Vanilla content, the $40 tag isn't worth it. Instead of keeping stuff secret for big reveals, just give us the list of stuff so WE CAN DECIDE FOR OURSELVES if it's worth the cost, not have someone tell us "if [we] knew, we'd throw money at the screen."

I would be perfectly happy with what they are doing of not for one thing.... Didn't they say year one players were getting something better than newcomers? I don't think anything we are getting is better and I am not an entitled Brat, but when they make a statement like that o expect a good follow up. Not them to just mention the sparrow and shader again. I did appreciate the apology and did think it was sincere

My biggest complaint was that people who only wanted TTK wouldn't be able to get the other exclusives. That has been taken care of, whether you agree with the pricing or not. I'm waiting to hear about the additional information for the digital CE. I got that to escape the discs, and I can use the download codes for my wife.

I'm still immensely confused about the pricing: Regular TTK: New Expansion = $40 (VIP Rewards*) Legendary Edition TTK: Base + All Three Expansions = $60 (VIP Rewards*) Collector's Edition TTK: Base + All Three Expansions + Intel Cache + Emotes = $80 (VIP Rewards*) And now a new option for those who don't want to buy the Expansions again: TTK + Emotes = $20? (VIP Rewards*?) Please correct me if I'm wrong. I'd love to clarify this.
