By not including matchmaking Bungie has effectively killed trials. Randoms probably make up about 70-80% of all crucible players.
It might be easy to find matches for trials the first few weeks the dlc drops, but after that it'll be a long ass wait in the lobby.
While I like the competitive aspect that comes with fighting another team, it's just not practical in Crucible to not have matchmaking.
Edit: ok looks like I need to clear up something. First, I'm not saying that I don't have friends to play crucible with. In fact 9/10 times I ONLY play crucible with friends because randoms are usually awful.
And secondly, I'm giving my opinion on what I think is Bungies screw up. Now I realize a good portion of you are 15yr olds who blindly defend Destiny no matter what Bungie does. And that's fine, but when you become an adult you will realize that other people won't share your opinion and to call them names shows your ignorance and lack of ability to debate. And people, please quit comparing Destiny to Halo and CoD. Destiny is it's own beast and needs to be viewed as such.
Edit2: I'm not complaining that matchmaking makes it so people can't play. In fact, my clan and I prefer fighting other clans as it is more competitive than crushing random scrubs. I'm not a sweaty try hard but my crucible stats are decent on destiny tracker. What I AM complaining about is that because there is no matchmaking trials of Osiris will have waayyyyyy less players than regular crucible. Just like raids, most casuals couldn't be bothered to go on destiny lfg, even more so for pvp where they will get crushed and tea bagged. No matchmaking=less players+competitive pvp=EVEN LESS PLAYERS=Trials of Osiris is dead.
Edit3:
no really.....sooooo many Bungie fanboys, emphasis on boys
8 commentairesIts not designed for everyone to play. Only the best PvP players. And every time I play PvP, I always find a match. So I'm more than sure there will be a bunch of people running trials Osiris. Why not wait and give it a try before you state an opinion purely based on what we've heard, and more on hands on experience.
-
Wahh, bungie knows what they are doing.

Trials is an endgame activity meant for the die hard PvP players. No matchmaking is a good thing as it will prevent more casual people from playing. Not that being casual is better or worse than being a core player, but if you have a team of three people who only play maybe a few times a once against people who play every day, guess who's going to win? No matchmaking is better for competition in my opinion, and I think it's the right move. There's no reason you cant just go play regular Crucible instead.

At least the kids have an excuse, what's yours?

Agreed, I'm pretty decent at crucible. I've only ever played in a fireteam about 2 or 3 times in an old iron banner so I could dodge red ping for a game or two and whenever some random friend joins me while playing. I just don't think I could be bothered. Pretty disappointed really, maybe after a few weeks and everyone has all the gear they'll open it up.
-
It needs a matchmaking mode, in which you can't bring in a Fireteam, and a team mode, where you will be put against a Fireteam.
-
It does need matchmaking. I have a large core of buddies that play but still they aren't always on and sometimes we do different things.
-
It really should've been no fireteam rumble, but whatever no use complaining.

Male Dolphins are ràping female Dolphins, other male Dolphins, gang ràpe, and even ràping humans. Dolphins are even regularly kidnapping swimmers and taking them to ràpe caves. This needs to be stopped so I want you all to spread awareness!
StopDolphinRàpe
Looks boring to me, but I usually don't play too much crucible. It was cool that legendaries were dropping after the games though. Might help some PVP'ers get some sweet gear!
-
Trials = PvP Version of Raids Both require premeditation and communication if you're going to have a chance. Try playing skirmish solo for a while and tell you think Trials should work the same way.
-
With something that IMO is more for skilled crucible players I can understand why there isnt matchmaking. That said, not having match making is going to make it that much harder for the less skilled PvP players (myself included kd around 1.2) to find other people that would want to play with them.

Having matchmaking would be stupid. Its good that its not

Which is exactly what they want. It's the end game content for pvp

12 commentairesI hardly ever play crucible because I'm horrible at it and I don't really like it (probably largely due to the fact I'm so bad at it haha) but when it comes to the trials I like it the way it is because when you see people with Osiris gear, it will be something a little more exclusive and elite, and so far there isn't really anything like that in Destiny... any gear that people have now you know they got from pure grinding or luck, and even top tier raid gear can be cheesed for. I think not having matchmaking just helps to create a sense of reward for when the few (er) people that do well can have something that really shows a level of skill, and I hope there starts to have PvE stuff like this as well

1 commentaire
By not including matchmaking Bungie has effectively killed trials. Randoms probably make up about 70-80% of all crucible players.
This is an assumption. I'm fairly certain that you don't actually know this and that you pulled your percentages out of a hat.
randoms are usually awful.
You've just stated why Trials of Osiris should not have matchmaking. To add to this, randoms usually don't use their mics and usually won't work well with other randoms (i.e. callouts, positioning, general strategy and know how). Trials is a step in the direction of a competitive scene for Destiny PvP and matchmaking with randoms will often be a hindrance than a benefit. Play with friends. It's simple. We all have them.
-
I agree with this.. My friends don't enjoy playing the crucible (some don't like destiny anymore) and i really enjoy crucible... So matchmaking is good for me but doesn't matter I guess, im sure I can find a team to play with
