Please, Don't Shoot Primary at Atheon
To begin, I have around 50 vault of glass raid completions. I know to some that's low and to others that's insane, but I know the feel for the raid at this point. So when I say don't shoot primary at atheon, DONT SHOOT THE DAMN PRIMARY AT ATHEON! It is so much more efficient to shoot something like a secondary or heavy and save primary for oracles. It doesn't do as much damage, and I think my head will explode if I see another unmaxed up for anything being used to shoot atheon. Even a Murmur is going to do more damage than primary. The point of times vengeance is DPS for 30 seconds, so make the most of it!!! If you run out of secondary or heavy though, then shoot the shit out of atheon with your primary! Try and run out so the game gives you more ammo. But for the love of all that is good and holy please use something than a primary. Also, don't waste a slot with a shotgun unless you plan on shooting oracles with it, had that happen before. For the record, My load out is black hammer, vision of confluence, and gjallarhorn and I never shoot primary at atheon unless I have to (but I tend to hold relic).
Edit: Would anyone be mad if they found someone in their fireteam shooting an unmaxed hard light at hm Templar? Had that happen, we even said "we're going to stop him from teleporting here so use rockets and get as much damage as possible" aaaaaand BOOM, hard light. At first I was upset, then I embraced it and let it happen.
Edit: if you run out of heavy and secondary then of course shoot primary! I actually said that but people must not have caught it. Oh well
Edit: oh so many claim they use super good advice for oracles, but I've never seen anyone do it. People hear others say it and repeat, I've even heard people say it in raids. Did they use super good advice? Nope.

You should be more specific, a fresh hard light can't be compared to a maxed fang. I agree that you should use higher damaging secondaries or heavies rather then primaries. And if you run out of secondary and heavy, I'd rather you shoot your primary then just stand there. Something's better then nothing.

I haven't used it yet but all my friends love using SGA because oracles count as a miss so u have basically infinite ammo Kinda the same with PI

3 commentairesI actually got "talked to" because I was using a Fusion Rifle when I ran out of Heavy Ammo. ...so 8 x 5 to 9 or so bullets in one shot isn't nearly as good as a clip of a primary weapon. Uh huh.. suuuure.

3 commentairesNope. Icebreaker until I run out, then vision of confluence. I save my heavy corrective measure for the oracles. Using primary on the oracles takes forever.

Here's what I do: -Icebreaker 7-8 rounds -Shoot scout rifle as IB regenerates ammo -icebreaker again.

I did last night funnily enough, ammo lasted lot longer than i thought though it did run out eventually, as for rockets i killed myself few times in bubble but got hang of jump eventually, used a tfwpky hc with explosive rounds when out of heavy, fusion (plan c) didn't look to be doing anything but got some ok damage with that hc, all yellow hp hits anyway.

I know the last VOG hard I did with my crew, I used my Vex out of laziness on Atheon. It was pretty beast, and I laughed a lot. Now I don't have anywhere near the amount of completions you have and the Vex is way different now than it was then. But are there any primaries that perform as well as secondaries at least? I used corrective measures to clear oracles btw, was pretty quick. But times have changed and I recognize that.
