No one here knows greek gods
:p. That's what I compare the hive gods to.
Example. The hive have many gods. Like the Greeks. Crota Is like the god of war. The son of the king of the gods. But nope they just compare him to Jesus because they think the hive only have one god.
This is comparing the hive gods to the greek.
Orxy is the king of the gods. So orxy = zeus
Crota is the god of war. Crota = Ares
I'm just using greek an example.

Except vex names all come from Greek myth. Cabal tends to follow roman terms. Normally military. Not sure about colossus though.

I don't think its that no one knows, it has more to do with the fact that very little amount of people actually care. Greek culture is quite interesting, but this is a video game and the majority of people who play it do not have a reliable attention span.

Also you can play striktes with 3 players- the best amount of heroes in a greek mission. The guardians are Maybe like Heroes of the greek mythologie. The game has something like a Second plot which wants to say something to us. I want to write an essay over Destiny because there is so much mythology in their. Light behind nemesis, Gorgons, the raids also have a plot. Titans also are in the greek mytholgy and now is coming Trials of osiris (egypt mythology). And we also have nordic mythology (Gjallarhorn) and btw Eris Morn is the greek chaos god. I love that game so much just because of the mythology. Maybe it wants to say US to be heros and save our world. At the beginning you see people on the mars and the Earth is destroyed... But That's true. Many play that Game and know about harpies and think they are just enemies in Destiny... I think the name is also important: DESTINY. So please excuse my english skills.

6 commentairesThe entire game draws parallels with Greek and Roman mythology. Even Aetheon roughly means "exiled one" in Greek. There's some good YouTube videos on all this. Just look up Destiny Lore.
