I don't mind helping out my fellow guardians. Ive been hearing a lot of complaints from people outside of my raid teams about how they have yet to kill crota and how hard he is and even how they need a hunter just to take him out.
I will make this info very simple and to the point for you all that are reading this right now:
RT=Hard hits
RB=Soft hits
To make this work perfectly you have to down crota 3 times with both swords.
Use this combo each time crota takes a knee
RB,RB,RT,RT
As long as this is done right you will kill crota like I have done on my hunter, titan, and my warlock (All lvl 32s).
BTW I like using my warlock to kill him its so much easier.
Also if you are interested in seeing me do this send a request to my clan "MayhemRiders" I will be choosing 3 people a week outside of my regular raid team to kill crota with.
Edit 1: for the people that can't do the math for themselves I'll simplify it for you
This combo actually does 51,000 damage. Even though you may be hiting RB twice your going to land three hits that equal about 21,000 damage then you hit RT twice that does 30,000 damage so the grand total becomes 51,000 damage 6,000 more than 3RTs
*IF DONE CORRECTLY YOU SHOULD HAVE DONE BETWEEN 60%-75% DAMAGE TO CROTA ON THE FIRST SWORD*
Edit 2: For the ones that want clarification on the strategy and when to shoot crota
We wait for him to get in the middle and we use middle strategy with a bubble on the bridge to distract the knights on the right side it works every time. Also we have at least 3 ghorns in out group to take him down 3 times. You have to tell them when to shoot the first time. Then the last two times they have to shoot once crota has fully stood up not when he turns red that will make him stand way too fast
Edit 3:
Lastly I posted this to help others so please if you've done it before holding the sword then I'm happy for you and you can share your ideas but don't come on my post saying that it's can't be done then confuse the ppl that haven't done it with your idea of doing between 4-6RTs on each down for crota. STOP TROLLING

4 commentairesThis is the strategy I use. Skip to 1:40 if you don't care to see us clearing the crystal room Most of whats done here can only be done by a titan though... It makes the titan look like the best class for running the sword. You get most of the damage on the sword bearer before he even leaves his spawn, you give yourself protection with extra shielding, and you can jump from the ground straight to crota without any extra steps involved.

I do 5-5-4 slam hits which put his health down to the "R" of crota in 1 sword without using super thats 15-20% health left

My gt is TheBananaFis13 I'm on Xbox one and yet to kill crota on hard Could you help?

1 commentaireModifié par CarpeDiem57V8 : 4/4/2015 6:20:07 AMMy gamer tag is CarpeDiem57V8 aside from Bluntblaster I am the best swordbearer I know and I get Crota down with 2 swords the trick is having a team with G-horns and yes they must know what to do ( not hit Crota when he is red ) but as soon as you start to see all the Wolfpack rounds hit Crota smash R2 on Ps4 5 times you'd have to start as he still is standing but the G-horns will do the rest so smash R2 tap triangle fast and blink strike then pick up sword immediately as your team counts to 3 they will shoot their G-horns again at which point you will repeat the R2 smash hopefully landing 10 R2's with 1 sword this will leave him with less then half his health remaining repeat with second sword and you should have downed Crota
-
If you get crota down 3 times per sword, I don't think it matters what combo you use. I could do it with just rt's. My friend took out crota in two swords with only 2 downs per sword.

5 commentairesCE on hard is pretty easy. You just need a good team to run with.
-
1 commentaireLol, i had no idea what we did on a regular basis was actually hard Max
-
5 commentairesLol if u have a hunter do rb rb rt rb rb rt rt. Like going invisible and melee him to go invisible when he gets back up. U only down him twice per sword and he will die in 2 swords. Don't believe me go look at giggle monster channel and he does it lol.

4 RT's I've done. Never really seen 6 since they patched Crota and reduced his time down.
-
4 commentairesimpossible :) your combo does ~3 RT hits while I did RB,4RT four times on Crota and he had like a RB/RT health left.

Modifié par Veecks : 2/18/2015 11:31:36 AMI see alot of confusion. So you mean.. One combo, then two smashes right? So, slash slash smash(which makes the combo), then two smashes. If so then I can see that working. I've found that doing two combos on him does more damage than 3 smashes. But most experienced people can pull off 4 smashes which will do more damage, if you can time everything right

10 commentaires2 soft hits and 2 hard hits? I'll try it tonight. What's the best way to ensure enough sword time for 3 shields down?

7 commentairesModifié par JHarv : 2/12/2015 11:44:35 PMSo basically, the exact same thing that everybody is doing, but instead of getting Crota to kneel twice in 3 swords, you're saying get him to kneel 3 times in 2 swords. Which simply requires insane timing from your shooters and insanely fast sword bearer kills so Crota doesn't rotate early. And doing Rb is pointless. You're saying do Rb Rb rt rt. When in fact rt rt rt does more damage. Rt does about 3 times the damage that Rb does. So substituting 2 Rb hits for 1 rt hit is lowering your dps. But that doesn't even matter. It's an easy fight, trying to get Crota to kneel 3 times in one sword without the sword despawning or Crota rotating makes it more complicated than killing a couple ogres.. I don't use any trickery. I can get him to just over half hp with 2 kneels. Timing the jump and Crota hits is far more valuable than trying to get him to kneel three times. Or if you really want to kill him fast, have your defender titans stack orbs for you on Crotas platform before the fight even starts so you can use your special ability. 3 titans rotating bubbles, popping 2 orbs at a time for 5 minutes gives you like a hundred orbs up there and pretty well infinite sword supers. Way more effective than your method, as you just rt super rt super rt super and Crota is at like 40% in one sword, two kneels.

Rade need help from people now

We killed him in 2 swords and only 2 downs we made orbs on Crotas platform for Each sword So we used special twice and got 4 hits each down

6 commentairesnice. i remember this being one of the first techniques, but somehow just stopped doing it

Modifié par jasonchella : 2/13/2015 12:07:03 AMGet your team to make some orbs on crotas platform before you launch the run, and you'll only have to down him twice per sword.
super smash
3 commentairesModifié par FuLL MeTaL DuzY : 2/13/2015 12:00:28 AMCrota gets to like 55% with 8 RT on 1 sword, easy to pull off
-
8 commentairesModifié par BORG : 2/12/2015 4:31:34 PMYou're overcomplicating. I've killed Crota 108 times. 50+ with the sword/hard mode. I have always killed Crota with 2 swords in a much easier way than the one described above. Why do people overcomplicate? Anyway... If anyone in xbox one need a swordbearer, just add me. I hell people out and have fun with Crota daily GT: borghaUK

1 commentaireIf you time your swing perfectly you can do RB RB RT RB RB RT RT each down. Kills him in two swords with two runs each time. I've only been able to that with my hunter with invisibility to time the first hit correctly though. Still working on being able to get that timing down on my warlock/Titan though.

2 commentairesTriple downing per sword is difficult to pull off and requires a great team. You need to kill sword bearer very fast so crota doesn't try to move between downs. You also need to immediately get to crota or else the sword will disappear too soon. As others have said, you are over complicating things. The truth is that Crota can be killed in only two swords with only 2 downs each. This requires no supers/orbs . The swordwielder doesn't need to be host either, your group just needs a good connection(being host can help if you're having issues). The trick to doing it consistently in only two swords is to begin attacking Crota BEFORE he kneels. You can do damage to crota sooner than you think you can. The swing combo you use can be switched around to many combinations so don't fixate on it too much. Bungie has built in a default swing combo with the sword by using Melee, Melee, Slam. I personally use this to start my combo while crota is still standing and finish with as many Slams as I feel are in the time window I have before crota stands. When you begin hitting crota while he's still standing, your first hit may not count as he is still immune. It's best for this hit to be fast so that you can swing again immediately and losing a light attack quickly is safer than losing a slow heavy attack. If Crota is below half health on the first sword, go for the kill on second sword. If he isn't, go for a 3rd sword. Crota enrages at the "C" on his name, so don't hit him below the "r" if you're going for 3 swords. No reason to waste a good run because you couldn't get 2 swords. Goodluck.

2 commentairesdo this.... crouch on rock inviz...jump up on platform...yell FIRE... then melee RT RT RT RT....crotes gets up... drop him...melee RT RT RT RT repeat for second sword and you should get him or before you summon crota have a titan drop two bubbles (4 orbs) infront of the right ogre room then go RT RT RT RT (crota kneel) RT RT RT SUPER RT thats how I do it

3 commentairesI wonder......... wouldnt Dragon Breath Solar flare thingy actually help while the sword bearer is rt rt rting? Just wondered...... thought it might do a little more damage in conjunction with the sword. Or is it JUST the sword that can damage Crota?
-
7 commentairesOr you could just hit him 4 times each kneel like I do. I can kill him but I don't like to get him enraged so we do ogres. But yeah, 16 swords hits using RT will kill him
-
5 commentairesI'd like to add, It is very possible to get 4RT hits, seen here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=oAq3yaqgDCc Also note in this video that crota doesn't seem to attack the sword bearer even though he hasn't taken a knee yet. Apparently the cluster bombs from HoC "stun" crota so that he won't attack the player. (Haven't actually tried this btw)
