So there will be three major sci-fi FPS games coming out in 2014. Is Halo going to be tossed to the wayside as gamers adopt hyped up new IP from Bungie and Respawn? Or does 343 stand a chance at making a Halo that's better than Destiny or TitanFall?

Modifié par Smarkdow : 6/30/2013 5:28:42 PMHalo is not going to become irrelevant, but it certainly will never enjoy the same amount of popularity it had in the Halo 3 days.

1 commentaireHalo will always hold a place in my heart, so no.
-
I made it 77/77. Heh. Anyways, nah I don't think Halo will become irrelevant.
-
I MADE IT 50 50 IM IMPORTANT YAAAAY!
-
Hard to say how well they will do and they might be different in terms of multiplayer and people will buy halo to have more of a straight up team vs team based multiplayer.
-
Depends on how Bungie designs the multiplayer in Destiny.
-
2 commentairesThis is actually a good question. There have been many sci fi shooters that challenged Halo, but they never actually made it irrelevant. I don't think they will, but I don't think Halo will ever be as big as it used to be.
-
1 commentaireBungie's Halos are timeless. They will never die. They live on in our hearts.
-
I hope so
-
9 commentairesThey will all be irrelevant when Star Wars: Battlefront comes out.
-
No, there will be people like me who will still buy halo
-
Not to me.
-
The old halos? no. The new halos are dead anyway.
-
Not interested in mech shooters but Titanfall actually seemed good. Destiny will be interesting too. As it stands though Halo lore interests me much more than Destiny lore at the moment; I don't expect it to change. So my answer is no -- gameplay at this point, is a different story.
-
Oh shit it's 50/50...
-
Seems fitting that Bungie would be the one to bring out a title to cast aside Halo.
-
Titanfall looks boring, in my opinion.
-
Halo is slowly fading out, beginning with ODST. It will be here for a while more, but Destiny and Titanfall will do some further damage to Halo's player count.
-
Possibly, but not necessarily right away.

2 commentairesI don't know, Destiny has to be really good and from what I've seen so far I'm on the fence still. Not really into the whole co-op games unless it's like a 3rd person co-op style game. Halo doesn't excite me anymore though after what 343 did to it so who knows.

Modifié par BerzerkCommando : 6/26/2013 12:22:10 AMI don't see Halo lasting that long after Halo. Destiny is made by Bungie which created Halo. Battlefield now has 64 players for the consoles. Star Wars Battlefront is finally going to come out. Titian Fall looks epic. GTA 5 is most likely going to be on next gen. Halo has nothing on those games. To me there's nothing appealing about Halo anymore. Battlefield has destructible environments and large vehicle combat which is going to get even more epic with more players. And Battlefront is going to have the same engine and player size. What does Halo have to stand up to that? The only way I think Halo can make it is if they do a spin off that's like Battlefront 2.
-
Well it already is to me. Wasn't Halo 3 meant to be the last one and MS made them do more? Anyways now that I think about it Halo 5 may be the last top the charts Halo game. With Titanfall Destiny and Battlefront it now has tons of competition. To make it more relevant they have to change it from it's current formula and open it to more platforms. I don't think the Reclaimer Saga is enough to keep it at the top. It will sell but I doubt Halo6+ will be competing with COD TF and Destiny. They will have to lower their game budget. It won't happen right away but I think it will get there after 2014/2015.

Modifié par Inyaccurate : 6/26/2013 12:10:58 AMTo put things into perspective, Halo 4 was 343i's first game. Ever. In the history of their company. For it to still manage to be a decent game, I think that's pretty impressive. I just hope 343i has learned their lessons by now.

Titanfall has no campaign. Destiny seems like it's more geared toward a cooperative campaign experience, but it's hard to tell since very limited information has been given on competitive multiplayer. As for Halo, we pretty much know it will have campaign, multiplayer, and some sort of Spartan Ops/Firefight mode. Not to mention it's the current king of sci-fi first person shooters on Xbox. Halo will stay in the running and it certainly wont become irrelevant.
-
Borderlands with Promethean Knights will not remove people permanently from actual competitive multiplayer games. Titanfall has a chance definitely, but I'm doubting it just because complexity scares the casual gamer, and Titanfall has an unintentional complex stigma to it I feel, regardless of how complex it actually is.
