“Camper” seems to be some kind of slur, but I love camping and I wonder who else does.
The reason I love it is because I enjoy using a variety of tactics:
Run & gun, flank, lone wolf, team up, teamshot, camping, etc, any combination of these things — it’s all good fun as far as I’m concerned.
Some of my favourite memories of D1/D2 are those tense standoffs in Elimination — both teams holding their positions until… a kill, a flank, a mistake, something… and it all kicks off.
Various game modes exist to encourage different types of engagement (including camping). I’m one of those weirdos who enjoys defending a zone/bomb/rift. (I tend to enjoy objective modes, but that’s a whole other can of worms and I sense I’m already pushing my luck here…)
Bottom line is, everyone can play how they like (within the rules).
Enjoy your game! 👍

7 commentairesThe game gets more campy and team shooty when it gets more skill based. So that's just something people are going to have to accept and learn that you can only really be shooting when there's other people around and that small and large teams are going to be driving the flow of the matches, regardless of how good they really are or should be treated like they are. More supposed skill means less improvisation and camping definitely falls under the category of less improvisation. At this point "the rules" should be subject to critique. The last crew got to write all the rules and this is what everyone ended up with so that's a little too much to just wipe away with "now I'll be nicenessnesses."
