Only Bungie could introduce a weapon crafting system with the stated intention of reducing RNG & increasing the "investment:reward" ratio and then lock the blueprints for the craftable weapons behind some of the most severe, restrictive RNG in the history of the franchise. Not only that but as an encore, they have tied progression of a quest to that awful RNG... This is astonishingly bad. I know they want to make sure people don't burn through the content in days but right now, as it stands you could conceivably play Wellspring every single day, for 3-4 hours at a time, for the ENTIRE year of this expansion and STILL not drop what you need to unlock the blueprints... This is a monumental fail. It's not just bad, or short-sighted design, this RUINS the entire crafting experience they must have spent 1000s of hours creating... Inexplicable... I'm already considering just ignoring the crafting completely and sticking to the traditional random roll world drops.

5 commentairesMaybe you should slow down and stop trying to “farm”. Play the game and enjoy it for what it is
-
Yea, im not jazzed about the weapon crafting system. Seems to make getting what you want like a hundred times more work.
-
5 commentairesI’m not crafting anything. Seen the high costs and over complicated lay out and just thought it’s not worth the hassle. They did a lot right in this expansion but def not the weapon crafting. Nice idea but execution was not that great.

7 commentairesModifié par chickengoujohn93 : 2/28/2022 2:22:58 PMRemoving limitations to crafting is a one way street to basically having static rolls back in the game. People didn’t like House of Wolves or Destiny 2 Y1 due you the lack of excitement in drops basically slashing playtime and eagerness to play content. People don’t like RNG either. Which is it?

And for it, I will not engage with the crafting system. Maybe at the end of the season I’ll have the drops and resources to bother with it.

23 commentairesModifié par Lethal : 2/27/2022 6:39:07 PMThis is how it should be: Gunsmith, you open up a build menu. 1. What type of gun? picks SMG 2. What architype? picks 750 veist 3. What skin? selects smg gun model 4. What element? picks kinetic 5. What perks? picks fluted, accurized, subsistence, rampage, range MW 6. What name? Name the weapon (since weapons are account bound anyways) 7. Type of bounty? Pick pve or pvp (so you dont get forced into game modes you hate) you then get a bounty like old pinnacles, get 2000 smg kills, run x amount of strikes/gm's/gambit etc etc once you finish...there's your gun.

This weapon crafting thing isn't for me at the moment

20 commentairesCrafting takes less time to produce a god roll than targeted farming 99% of the time. We are better off with it.

Do I have to craft weapons? I don’t really care to be that involved.

System seems fine with me. All of you trying to chase God rolls on week 1 are insane. Even the time needed to find the necessary patterns for your weapons will not take long. Once your pattern is unlocked, I expect you to have a solid godroll within 2-3 days of grind. Before we spent weeks and months looking for our godrolls. Now the grind is barely a week. Added to that, youre only interested in 2-3 guns I'm betting on.

So I’m not completely sure of what your trying to say, but if your talking about the rng: here’s the problem. Rng to low, drops much more often, players get burned out and don’t play as much(because they got what they wanted) Rng to high, players complain, don’t play as much, to much grind. I think this rng is fine?(can’t say much cause I’m the kind of person who gets god rolls first try) and honestly I don’t know what bungie should do. It’s kind of hard to get rng just right, because, well, rng.

2 commentairesThis is what happens when you (and I) play the same game for years.. Simple grinding seems, to us, almost inconceivable..whereas to newer players it might seem annoying but it'll get done. [Que all the new players saying they think it's badddd] I dont know yet what quest Wellspring is tied to. I do know, Bungo will have to change it.

8 commentairesI’ve decided to not focus on crafting and just look at the guns and drops I get. I got lucky and grinded out the two needed for the exotic Glaive quests. Not going to stress that much over crafting again. The only problem I’m seeing is locking enhanced perks behind crafting. These have the potential to completely invalidate non-crafted weapons depending on the strength of some of these. Most seem fine but there’s a few I’m concerned about.
-
3 commentairesIt still reduces RNG for the most part. You don’t need to get an exact roll to drop. Just however many red weapons of any roll to get the pattern. Make a basic version of the weapon, and get kills, and activity completions, and make your god roll within a few levels. You’ll just need more crafting materials to make an even godlier roll with enhanced perks. Believe it or not I assumed there would be more RNG than there currently is. Since once you get the pattern your RNG woes are practically over. All perks are just a small matter of time away.

Modifié par Psyko Scythe : 2/28/2022 4:41:26 PMAgree completely, grinded hard wellspring for hours and no attunement weapons to drop at all. Caps on resources ridiculous. Took time off and Have put in 45-50 hours this week with not one of these quest attunement weapons to drop. Terrible design, you Bungie defenders can suck it. Also Day 1 D1 player here, they have always been clueless with certain things.

8 commentaires... it's Week 1 lmfao sorry you don't have everything in the game yet. Maybe bungie should just start putting everything into everyone's inventory right off the start 🤔 maybe that will make things better

Destiny has run it's entire in-game economy on RNG for eight years. It's no wonder Bungie doesn't listen to it's player base, all a bunch of whiney babies. I bet they never read these forum posts.

1 commentaireModifié par Meaga : 2/28/2022 1:56:26 PMResonance is literally not an issue. Play the game for it to give you ANY COPY and the weapon with the progress bar, play 2 PvP games. Done. Don’t wanna use the gun for a long time when leveling? PvE farm it for an hour with last wish or something and boom, level 7-9 easy.

This for me, was frankly to be expected, and I'm sitting here wondering why I canceled my preorder refund. I play with some of the most hyped up bungaroo fanbois they got me confused at the last minute. There is in no way, shape, or form any crafting in this DLC; shaping is not crafting, and all they did was move the RNG from one portion of the game to another. I planned to ignore the shaped weapons once I saw Khackis' video talking about the predetermined perk pool, and extracting only resources to shape weapons. That is, once I saw the RNG of getting enough red box drops of said weapon that was the icing on the cake. I'll stick to my own weapons it's not like the origin perks are mind blowing or game breaking. I'll play wellspring a few times because it's fast but I'm not sitting here for three hours just to get nine low stat veritas boots. Whatever quests don't get done in a year don't, just play the game and it is what it is.

1 commentaireIt's like the players just never learn. When has Bungie instituted any new system that didn't come packed with inordinate grinding, arbitrary limits, and an entirely new currency system funding it all? Welcome to Transmog 2: Crafting Boogaloo where they might tweak it down in the future and everyone will praise them despite the "tweaked down" version still being an inordinate amount of grind.

4 commentairesThe more I hear about how Bungie screwed up.........again.... The happier I am that I didn't buy this expansion. Oh, and I would like to state for the record that I was right. You blow through the campaign and then you're back to the tedium of strikes, gambit, crucible, dungeon, raid to get a number as big as possible that, in the end, means nothing. I said this is what was gonna happen time and time again. Granted, I said it would be 90 mins of new campaign followed by the "grind" and, it seems, they at least doubled the time I stated. Semantics, though. But to find out that, on top of all of that which I called them out for months ago, they have screwed up the biggest seller of this expansion with the Weapon Crafting. It's like the cherry on top of a rotten cake, ya know? Looks real pretty on the surface, which is what they sold to you, only for you to start digging in and finding just how awful that $100 cake really is.

Modifié par SpicyCurryO_O : 2/28/2022 2:38:16 PMJust gonna do what I always do, get a god roll or a decent roll I like, and use that. I've just been deleting or infusing the resonance weapons I've been getting. This whole crafting system is way to much player investment for little reward. Not gonna bother using enhancement cores to masterwork weapons either, just gonna save my cores for Armor.

1 commentaireBungie should drastically increase the drop rate and quantity of ascendant alloys OR make crafted perks permanently available after initially buying them. I’m maxed out on all capped resources but only have 2 enhanced perks.
-
I also thought it was really strange that I had to get two or more of the same deepsight weapons to drop in order for its pattern to be unlocked.

1 commentaireModifié par Tis-but-a-scratch : 2/28/2022 2:47:45 AMConsidering?? Basically I’ve already made that decision. I might goof with it a little bit, but otherwise I couldn’t care less. The crafting sucks and they won’t let you build up resources. Cost and time investment is simply not worth the hassle. So my weapons will kill a half second slower. Whoop dee do.
