Destiny 2:
- Ledge grabbing so jumping/platforming is a bit easier.
- More varied public events in patrol zones.
- 6 man match-made activities like Menagerie / Sundial. A welcome addition.
- You don't have to go to orbit to pick a new location on the map.
- You have multiple landing zones on some of the planets for easier navigation.
Destiny 1:
- Actual DLC's with story content instead of seasonal passes with 'checklist' quests (the content between expansions not the expansions themselves).
- We as guardians felt powerful
- Skill trees for subclasses so you could have the build you wanted.
- Less time-gated "FOMO" content. You could play the content more at your own pace.
- Better looking armor
- Raids, particularly the early raids were accessible for newer players.
- Raid exclusive gear having perks which are relevant to that specific raid.
- Factions, with rankups and cool weapons
- You could play any game mode you wanted and still rank up / get good gear.
- You could reach max power (apart from 'Forever 29' early on) without need of relying on special engrams dropping a couple of times a week.
- Normal strikes were actually worth playing
- not so hostile towards solo players
- Less Eververse
- Armsday
- PvP maps on the whole were more suited to 6v6.
- You could play any story mission any time you wanted.
- Better contrasts with graphics. More use of light and shadow.
- You don't spend hours loading into the tower.
- better soundtrack
So yeah on balance, D1 for me was better. If they could combine the good parts of D2 with D1 the game would be much improved.

Not that I'm defending D2, but on-patrol maps are irreplaceable
-
D2 did up vault space to 500, add more subclasses, and collections (as bad as it is) idk this a growing list?
-
You forgot dead ghosts. I got a kick out of stumbling across them in my adventures. Now there’s nothing hidden to find. No Easter eggs. D2 is like the minimal effort window licking third cousin to D1.
-
I’ll agree on two things... Factions with rank ups to get gear Raid exclusive gear perks This rest is just subjective ‘I liked’ stuff... Raids were more accessible because no revive tokens? That makes them less accessible. As far as content goes... seasons give us so much more content than the other model. CoO and warmind has the same amount of content as season of undying and dawn, and we also got worthy and whatever summer brings on top of that.

I dunno bro, Lost Light and Journey (both featuring the Kronos Quartet) are some of the most provocative pieces in the entire Destiny franchise soundtrack...

Modifié par Galactic Zones : 5/24/2020 10:47:00 PMAgreed they’re great but I reckon that overall D1 soundtrack was better. It had that Star Treky mysterious vibe that I dig. 👍

Definitely

D1 was great but unless you had the dlc’s you couldn’t play anything aside from the vanilla campaign and patrol. If you wanted to play crucible you needed rise of iron, strikes? You need ride of iron, prison of elders? You needed taken king, the weekly raids including vault of glass? You needed rise of iron . You were locked out a majority of the game
-
Put those two lists together and you have a -blam!-ing dream of a game.
-
You are aware that Destiny 2 has had exactly as many expansions as Destiny 1 did over the same period of time right?
-
Yes I was referring to quality rather than qty.
-
I’d prefer D2 over D1 but both are dead as of now
-
D1 definitely ain’t dead I still get match made into strikes and crucible games, people still ask for raid groups.
-
I never said no one plays it but I can see how you misconstrued me
-
I’d prefer D2 over D1 but both are dead as of now
Define your use of dead?
-
I'm not sure why they tried so hard to lean away from everything destiny 1 did right. I think my personal biggest gripe is the barriers they created to leveling up. I shouldn't need to use 3 characters to level up in time for a day 1 raid.
-
D1 was like an ala carte vacation while D2 is like indentured servitude.
-
Agreed 👍

Modifié par Yosemite Sam : 5/24/2020 3:24:17 PMIf you actually look at this game, they really didn't add much of anything. For example, you said more public events but all of them even up to this day for almost 3 years even though there is more they are literally useless. I mean Deej even tried to pass off that 2 tokens and a blue were top rewards for the public events for crying out loud🤣🤣🤣😂 Edit: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHEX1DHn3iM

Almost everything that they've added to destiny 2 has made it worse (except raids). I remember when they thought time trial nightfall was a good idea.

Modifié par Yosemite Sam : 5/24/2020 4:15:02 PMThey're constantly changing things like the infusion system that is the problem. They never have had a foundation and build from there, it's always "let's start over and see how this works" 🤦♂️ The funny thing about the infusion? we're getting the umpteenth "update".
-
Lol I remember that well 😂
-
I dunno dude, Deej looked kind of pissed and defeated when his 2 tokens and a blue were revealed as the rewarding loot.
-
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bHEX1DHn3iM It just goes to show how he literally does not play the game. Remember when he didn't know what Lucky paints were? There are many times he has embarrassed himself on a live stream for not knowing what he was talking about over the 6 years.
