Why not make Menagerie Heroic matchmade?
Seriously thought it was a good step in the direction for Destiny, and then they go ahead and force us to use the stupid lfg??? I was excited to play it today and then see this screen?
Look, this is what I don't understand. The game matches you with complete randoms, but like so does LFG. It's the same thing, LFG is just shittier. Why don't we have this feature even for raids in the game yet? Let us filter out who we get matched with. Much like bungie did with Halo. Give us the tools in game.
Just give us the damn tools in game already.
Just do it. Make it so that the player has to get like 5 or 10 regular menagerie completes, and the recommended light level.
For the people who grind out achievements, make one of those filthy grindy ones give you the ability to go in matchmaking or something. idk

Because Bungle refuses to invest in in-game social and LFG features and are satisfied with less than 10% of their community actually participating in endgame activities; despite the fact that number is shrinking from game-to-game and content drop-to-content drop. If 5% of the community is doing Heroic Menagerie (at least in the first couple weeks), that fine… as long as they make sure to stream and post vids about it. But when this game goes F2P this September, will that really cut it?!

1 commentaireAs long as they lock it to 750 to get in then I think that optional MM is just fine. Need some kind of “vote to kick” option though. You want to go in with a bunch of afk players? Ran it twice last night with lfg groups with no mics. So communication isn’t important at all.

If you go on LFG you are prepared and expected to be partying up. If someone is using a shitty loadout you can talk to them and ask them what else they have and say what they should be using especially in something like heroic menagerie that basically requires certain weapons since it is actually hard. In matchmade you are basically stuck with whatever your team is using, even if it’s someone at the bare minimal light for the activity using a long shadow and misfit. That will not work for heroic menagerie, not even close. I know someone is going to say “How would having matchmaking affect you”, and it wouldnt, but Im just saying it would be pointless if it did have it because people would probably realize it doesnt really work for something that is difficult for most. It is basically the choice between the forums being spammed with “Why isnt menagerie heroic matchmade” or “Why are people in heroic menagerie such idiots”.

Are you nuts? Have you seen the modifiers? Randoms can barely do regular menagerie bosses. Ig you want to play heroic just use the multiple LFG options available.

LFG allows you to curate the kind of people you play with. Along with that, more often than not the people in matchmaking will not be on mic, where as LFG players will be. The only way I was able to make it through heroic was with that communication.

Optional matchmaking should definitely be added Like the Verdant Forest vs the Firewalled Verdant Forest. This would let players go in solo, 2-man, 3-man or whatever they want, or for blueberries to solo-queue. I think this option should be added to strikes and nightfalls too

80% of people I get match made with in normal Menagerie have either no clue whats going on, don't even bother with the events and sometimes frankly just not end game material, however that is guaranteed loot at the end of it even if you have to slug out the full time. (granted your not chasing the triumphs) The heroic version is fail-able and requires alot more communication and game awareness or you will be sent to orbit and punished. with a match-made team for this, you cannot kick members from the session who are just not up-to-par for the challenge, ignoring strategic advice or just being awkward and wasting everyone's time. They definitely made the right call on this one. Join an endgame clan.

With rando-queue I have zero control over whether people have mics, little to no ability to strategise beforehand, or during encounters, I could end up with class imbalance, poorly geared players... With LFG you bypass [i]all[/i] of that. All of it. You can specify what you want, pick who you want. Should Destiny have a groupfinder in-game? [b]HELL[/b] yes. XB1s LFG function gives a sneak peek of just how well it could work if all the players are groupfinding from one focal point. Rando-queue though? Naw. Look how badly Tier 3 Reckoning went. Heroic Menagerie is a more demanding activity than that.

Matchmaking should be added in every activity. It’s one of the many easy things that they could easily do to improve a lot the game without adding new content

5 commentairesLfg shows you are committed to the activity and allows you to make sure everyone has a mic before you go in. Matchmaking does not if you can take the time to complain on the forums you can take the time to lfg.
