Recoil control is easier with a stick. Because sticks are analog and you literally can hold the stick in a fixed position to counter-balance the recoil without moving your thumb or let it go.
That is not possible with a mouse. A mouse scans the surface (digital) and once you stop, no other data is transmitted to your PC, in other words, the game thinks you stopped moving (what you did) and the recoil goes on and on.
With the console Destiny 2 recoil system on PC it would require you to constantly move the mouse in the opposite direction of the recoil until you have to lift your mouse again before you reach the end of your mousepad (or the table, lol). Also you would have to let it go at some point and that interrupt the recoil control as well.
It would be pure nonsense and annoying to let players control the recoil from Destiny 2 guns in such a fashion on PC.
That is the sole reason and it was explained in the vidoc for the PC launch/release.

Half true, recoil can be easier to control if it's single-direction on a stationary Target on a pad. But, anything beyond that is far, far easier on a mouse, if anything. Because you can't precisely or quickly keep a moving Target in your crosshairs with good recoil control without aim assist, which in most games isn't a soft aimbot. Where it is a soft aimbot (namely in Titanfall 2), then you can control recoil while also having a good latch on your target. Destiny as a whole's aim assist is not soft-aimbot strong on most weapons, it doesn't compensate recoil nearly as well (if at all), nor is it as precise at outright aiming for you in the vast majority of examples.

Haha not even close There's a reason why players pay extra to buy adapters and extra equipment for an alternate setup of keyboard and mouse XD I have a xim 4 and scuffs....everything is extremely easy with mouse and keyboard. Find the acceleration curves to help combat the aim assist or turn off completely, then u can easily get used to the setup with better accuracy far superior to any controller The main issue u will come across is adjusting ur dpi per game and having enough room to prevent lifting the mouse too often Recoil control os easier through consistency and by having the ability to make for more accurate adjustments on a mouse. There's a reason controllers have aim assist...developers put it in for a reason...go figure

absolutely not true. it is way easier to control spray patterns with a mouse. you cant really lock the stick in a certain spot since patterns are often differ/randomize
-
It‘s about recoil, not the pattern itself.
-
recoil comes either with a pattern or by random. both are way easier to control by mouse.
