Sooo, those same cousins that taught me how to drive a stick shift also taught me how to shoot a gun for the first time.
First I shot a revolver, I think they called it a .22? Then I shot another .22 that was a rifle with a scope. After that they let me shoot their AR, which was hella fun. I -blam!-ed up old frying pans and beer cans and dug some trenches in their yard with that one. Loved the little bit of kick it had.
Anyway, it was fun to get over the fear of guns I had. I'm still appropriately scared of them, but not so scared that I don't want to be near them at all. So, AMA.

Almost no recoil, and you probably couldn't kill someone with an entire mag unless you aimed for their head. Fun to shoot though. The highest I've shot was a .40 caliber. Left bruises on my palm for maybe a week. I hope to shoot a .357 magnum someday (big ass beautiful revolver). From what I hear those things kick like a mule.
