None? I go to YouTube for my news!

I trust my own judgement based on raw data and gameplay, but I consider AngryJoe's reviews.

1 commentaireModifié par Ninja_Lazer : 3/19/2017 3:41:15 AMUsually, if I am interested in a game the process goes like this: 1 - Look at Metacritic score and best/worst review 2 - Look at reviews from The Know, Jimquisition, Total Biscuit, The Black Hokage, IGN, Angry Joe, Kinda Funny, Boogie 3 - Watch a few Twitch channels that specialize on the game 4 - Try Beta/Demo if available 5 - Ask #Gaming for input 6 - Ask friends for input 7 - Decide if pros outweigh cons at the time, or if the decision should be put off until later

Modifié par girflush : 3/19/2017 4:06:18 AMNone at all really. They all are mostly promoting their site or themselves to some degree. Independent user reviews just from normal gamers who have played the game are what I trust mostly. Even straight trolls can a lot of times have a bit more cred than someone with some sort of ulterior motive. But really all that's fine, people trying to make a go at making some type of income doing what they love. that's great. But what's funny is when you have paid shills coming into forums. making posts, leaving reviews, commenting, etc, hyping up a game. Guess that's how marketing goes nowadays.

Gameinformer. Used to trust gamespot, but now it is only interested in westworld and rating disney movies....

1 commentaireYou know what?, I trust some of the people on this very forum. More than a few of you help me find games, some of you have no idea you helped me. I trust the everyday gamer over some so called journalist .
-
I mostly look at GameInformer and other outlets for gaming news. The only reviewer that I trust is myself.

IGN actually. It's only their reviews that tend to be biased sometimes. And also Gamesradar seems to be ok.

PC gamer I'd say

I tend to just use Metacritic. The aggregate score isn't that useful, but once you read enough individual reviews, you get a pretty clear idea of a game's strengths and weaknesses.
-
4 commentairesI trust no journalists at this point. All they try to do is be first to put coverage out instead of being accurate, they're all shit journalists.
-
I trust them all about as much as a car salesman
-
Just about all of the big ones. I like Jason Schreier from Kotaku and Paul Tassi from Forbes.

5 commentairesModifié par TheBeejAbides : 3/18/2017 2:27:02 PMTrust? that's a loaded question? In terms of reviews? None, as a channel. I prefer to ask friends on my list what they think of certain games that they are playing before I buy them. But on specific reviews, I try to pay attention to the tone and knowledge of the writer or presenter: do they ask the types of questions that I would ask? do they spend too much time highlighting things that I don't care about? Its important to know what you really like about games first, before you watch a review. But if I had to say there is one outlet that I watch regularly it's The Know from Rooster Teeth Productions. Ashley Jenkins and her writers offer a good portion of information, editorial, humor and decent looks. lol. I really appreciate the angle that they took on after Funhaus (formerly Inside Gaming) joined on to the know. It was nerd smart, had big balls, and funny as hell. They no longer contribute to The Know, but their influence is still there, now embedded in the DNA of the show. I don't really trust IGN or Gamespot, not because of people alleging that they get paid to write positive reviews or just talk positively about certain games, but because they take themselves TOO DAMN SERIOUSLY. They try to act like they are real journalists. Pfft. Real journalists tackle real problems. Those fools play and talk games. And they aren't particularly great writers. Anybody that uses "tour de force" to describe a game or any work of art is an awful writer.

Modifié par xcutioner_0 : 3/18/2017 2:59:49 AMI don't trust any of them. I just trust my gamer friends. Sometimes. And I'd rather test out a game first before making final decisions to buy it.
I also wouldn't trust IGN with any review. Extremely biased.
